The World’s Wealthiest: Spending Habits

Merrill Lynch and consulting company Capgemini recently released the 2008 World Wealth Report, outlining what the world’s ultra-rich are splurging on.  High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) are those with at least $1 million in financial assets, excluding collectibles, consumables, consumer durables, and primary residences.

Android is for the masses, iPhone for the rich?

Recently, Last100 got a chance to interview Nicolas Gramlich, founder of an online community for android developers, anddev.org.  Android is Google’s mobile operating system and competes with the likes of Apple’s OSX for iPhone and Nokia’s Symbian open source OS. Gramlich said that “there will be a great variety of Android devices all over the world, where there will always be just the iPhone.”

Yahoo reimbursing Yahoo Music customers

Yahoo just before the weekend announced that its digital management servers would be taken down.  Since their music files are DRM-protected, the use of the files would be severly limited.

Carrie Davis, spokeswoman for Yahoo Music, told InformationWeek, “You’ll be compensated for whatever you paid for the music.”

McCain Responds to Fire: Proposes $300 million to developer of car battery of the future

Recently, Presidential hopeful Barack Obama stated that he would meet with the Big 3 Detroit automakers early in his presidency.  To continue with the good fighting spirit, Senator McCain says that he would offer $300 million to American developers that can develop a car battery of the future.

Bill Maher’s Dickheads of the Year

Bill Maher announced his list of biggest assholes of 2007 recently and we just thought we’d share it with you.  If you want to avoid such a list, be sure NOT to electrocute a dog (Michael Vick), say a mining accident was caused by an earthquake, when seismologists disagree completely (Bob Murray), or try to get it on with a stranger of the same sex in a public restroom (Sen. Larry Craig).
