The Campaign: Bulgari for “One Ring to Save the Children”

For their 125th anniversary, fashion house Bulgari has set a goal of raising €10 million EUR (approximately $13 million USD) for the Save the Children foundation, having already completed one tenth of the goal through an initial donation of €1 million EUR (approximately $1.3 million USD).

Save the Children is the largest independent international organization for the defence and championing of children’s rights. Their “Rewrite the Future” campaign aims to provide education to 8 million children living in conflict-affected zones by rebuilding and equipping schools.

Bulgari has designed a silver ring that has the Bulgari logo on the outside and “Save the Children” logo on the inside. The ring’s made of silver in tribute to the company’s founder who started as a silversmith in the 19th century.

20% of the ring’s $375 USD MSRP will go to the foundation and will go on sale from 1 February to 31 December 2009 at all Bulgari stores worldwide.

Psyclone TouchCharge pads for PS3, Wii, and XBOX 360

The concept behind the Psyclone TouchCharge is a good one. It gives you the ability to put down your PS3, Wii, or XBOX 360 controller on the charging pad and it automatically begins to charge the peripheral. The set comes with a charging pad and a contact charger, which latches on to the controller.

The charging kit for the XBOX 360 is the most expensive at $69.99. The Wii’s set is at a fair $59.99. Unlike the Wii and 360, the PS3 charging kit does not need external rechargable batteries, as it already has them built in. This explains the cheaper $49.99 price tag.

What’s next for Psyclone, a charging kit for our precious iPhones? The possibilities are endless.

Kesner: The West Village’s newest men’s shop open now

It seems that the West Village is filled with upscale men’s shops, but that’s not stopping Kesner from joining the festivities. The interior design is as remarkable as the pieces that it carries, and Material Interest made sure we’d get a shot at both.

The bi-level space just opened today and features Art Deco club chairs, a chandelier from 1905 and alot of the color purple. The collections aren’t as pricey as the decor with apparel from Tim Hamilton, Gilded Age, and Patrik Ervell. Parisian label Melinda Gloss, who’s known for suiting and outerwear also joins the mix, along with L.G.R. sunglasses.

We expect to see Kesner make it through this coldest of winters.
