Custom Nagasawa Bicycle

Custom Nagasawa Bicycle

We came across this beauty of a bicycle over at Hype in Japan and it’s worth a look. The Nagasawa frame is enough to blow our minds, a rare piece these days that’s only available through custom order. The Japan-based framebuilder has been sought after by elite racers in hopes of getting a frame of uncompromised accuracy and precise handling. The Campagnolo Shamal wheels are lightweight and powerful with Zaffiro white tires making the ride a smooth one. The vintage Fujita saddle is a much-welcomed touch, making the bicycle a complete work of art.

Alden Longwings for Winn Perry

Alden Longwings for Winn Perry

It’s definitely the fine details that make all the difference, and Winn Perry proves this with their rendition of a pair of Alden Longwings. The difference is slight, with the only alteration being in the sole to combat Portland’s famously rainy climate. “Done simply in walnut brown calfskin, this shoe is about as under the radar as beautifully constructed shoes come. But if ain’t broke, don’t fix it. So we only made one very subtle change that will benefit us Portland folk immensely. The main difference made to these was in the sole. Instead of the standard double leather sole, we used an oiled version, called a ‘Double Waterloc’ that will resist the harmful effects of Portland’s wet climate. The heavily oiled sole is a stacked version of the soles used in the construction of Alden’s flex welt system. In this case however, the oil keeps water from penetrating the sole and helps to increase their lifespan dramatically on Portland’s soggy grounds.”

With the weather being as dirty as its been in NYC the last few days (yes, finally the sun today!), maybe you should grab a pair of these to be prepared for the next onslaught of showers.

Lomography Holga 35mm Camera

Lomography Holga 35mm Camera

From Lomography comes a minaturized version of the original medium format Holga. The all-plastic lens , two shutter settings and two aperature settings are all reminiscent of the original. Hypebeast tells us its advance and shutter are uncoupled – meaning that you can shoot unlimited multiple exposures on the same frame. “Its images are dripping with color, contrast, a slight softness, and a whole lot of soul. For that classic Holga look, with the ease of 35mm film development, this guy can’t be beat.” We couldn’t agree more. The Holga is currently available at Colette.
