Selectism turns us to the Spring/Summer 2010 collection from England’s Heritage Research. The garments are crafted in England using the finest British and Japanese fabrics. Every piece is cut, sewn and finished by hand using traditional English tailoring methods. With inspiration drawn from military, outdoor and workwear themes, HR creates collections that strike a perfect balance between classic and contemporary clothing. This holds especially true in the S/S 2010 lineup, as the label blesses us with a great set of gear, some even my father would enjoy. Maybe.

The Fashionisto gives us looks from the runway at this year’s London Fashion Week. Topman‘s collection Fall 2010 looks to be promising, as it exudes a certain militaristic touch, that’s mated with an earthy color palette. “While outerwear steals the show with an oversize appeal, a nature motif is explored with gradients across the collection’s shirting. Meanwhile, relaxed trousers round out a range that combines a young and masculine aesthetic with a progressive style.”

Leather goods maker Moore & Giles has a wonderful lineup for the coming spring and summer seasons, with many of the fine hand made products already hitting stockists. The Slim Portfolio will surely be a fan favorite, as it comes in two different flavors. The brown finish is crafted of American bison leather and fitted with a striped cotton interior, single divider and interior leather business card and pen holder. The other more low-key alternative is a black shell made of Brompton leather with all the other offerings of the brown version.
Both are great for the sunny days to come, perfect for any travels-light student or business man on the go.

This may go down as our favorite of the Test Shots from Jake Davis. Hooman Majd is New York-based writer who has done work for The New York Times, The New Yorker, Salon, GQ, the New York Observer, and Interview. “When I grow up I can only hope I have an ounce of the cool and intellect that this man has. Hooman Majd is truly a refined gentleman. This is the way to do it, ladies and gentlemen… Take note… His face says it all…” We agree, Jake.

Mister Freedom gives a look at their continuing collaboration with Japan’s Sugar Cane. The Spring/Summer 2010 collection, entitled, “Speedsafe Clothing”, offers up a handful of item. On our radar is the chambray mechanic shirt and the ever-so popular Mulholland Master in a refined black issue. The fabric is a sturdy 100% cotton ‘gros grain’ type cloth, which was originally developed for the US Navy and officially called “Jungle Cloth”.

Billykirk‘s fine products are hand made, with most of the work done by an Amish community in Pennsylvania. The result is flawless, and that’s proven in the label’s Spring/Summer 2010 offerings. Notable items include an array of carryall bags in small and medium sizes, card cases, and a leather journal that comes with an aquabee sketchbook. Look for the pieces to hit retailers in the coming weeks and months, including Vancouver’s LARK.
