Steven Alan’s known for his impeccable shirts, in fact, they’re my personal favorites. The fit and construction are unmatched and the prints have been great season-over-season. For the current season, the New York designer drops several new designs of his signature Reverse Seam shirt. The shirt features a twisted placket, slightly tailored body, and French seams at the side as well as a reversed inside pocket.
4 Horsemen Supplies teams up once again with British Columbia’s Viberg for another solid offering. This time, they’ve opted for a Saddle Oxford based on Viberg’s 145 Oxford. The two-tone upper and hand perforated quarters really set this one apart with the vamp and counter finished in Ice Mocha Chrome Excel, and the quarters in Vintage Tan.
(No Subject) out of Los Angeles deliver the first of a series of videos that look to shed light on LA’s creative community. This video takes a visit to KILLSPENCER’s design studio which is owned by 27 year-old industrial designer Spencer Nikosey. From this three-minute video, we get an opportunity to go behind-the-scenes with a brand that’s really been doing something great things ever since they first came on the scene. Look for more of the same moving forward.
Veja’s wallets have been gaining some traction as of late and their Projet Numero 2 is in front of the pack. It features organic cottons and a vegetable-tanned leather, shown above in a Geranium finish. From what we’ve seen and heard, they break in really well and there are plenty of slots for all your plastic excursions. Sounds like a win-win to me.
From French designer Christian Louboutin comes a look at his iconic “Louis” sneaker in an all-black shell, studs and all. The shell features premium leather trim and tonal black outsole, with the signature studs dropped in matte black finish. Look for these at select retailers and in very limited quantities.
If you want comfort, look no further than the new Quoddy Maliseet’s made exclusively for New York shop Leffot. They’re handsewn in Maine and made of Horween Chromexcel leather with deerskin lining throughout and feature cushioned insoles and camp soles. They’re lightweight, soft, flexible and everything else you’d want in your go-to summer shoe.
We’ve just gotten a look at a Brooks Brothers Fall 2011 preview of their Black Fleece line. We’ve only seen a few shots and it only wets our appetite. The suiting is solid as expected and the styling is really well done as it mixes luxe with wearability. You Must Create drops an exceptional collection the upcoming fall season. The pieces look like they’re built to protect against the elements but are extremely wearable as well. There’s a solid mixture of military inspired outerwear with winter staples such as warm knits and accessories.
French label Kitsuné unveils looks at their Spring 2012 collection, one that’s inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. If you’ve wondered what the men of the Roaring Twenties wore in Manhattan, this might’ve been it. The details weren’t spared this time around as Kitsuné brings together American staples with European detail. Look for Italian linen jackets, cardigans and sportcoats that fit just right as well as Japanese oxford shirts and well-fitting trousers.
