The folks at Ben Sherman have cooked up this ad campaign for their Fall 2011 line. They worked with Dazed & Confused to find a few successful Englishmen who’ve crossed the pond and now call New York home. They were given the opportunity to pick items from the fall line and wear it in their own way and be shot in their own neighborhoods. Look for the six chaps to be profiled in the September 2011 issue of Dazed & Confused.
Hodinkee tells us IWC Schaffhausen has teamed up international online menswear retailer Mr. Porter with the introduction of the retail site’s “Portofino Watch Lover’s Look” segment. With designers including Dunhill, Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo and others, Mr. Porter will offer up curated collections and accompanying editorials. IWC & Mr. Porter align in many ways and this collaboration will surely add some value to IWC owners and Mr. Porter shoppers alike.
Michael Williams from A Continuous Lean and Mr. Randy Goldberg of Urban Daddy fame have teamed up once again, this time with a impermanent shop in collaboration with next week’s (capsule) tradeshow in New York. The shop will house vintage dealers, some up-and-coming labels and some of New York’s local community. Folks on hand include Terrapin Stationers, Dehen 1920, Quit.Mad.Stop., Tipton & Co., Orange Crush Exports, Strongarm C&S Co., Tart, B4 It Was Cool, and McSweeney’s Books. There will also be an installation of commodities and props from byKenyan.
Japanese mega-retailer Uniqlo has inked a deal with UNDERCOVER to begin collaborating on a clothing line set to release in Spring 2012 with the launch of a flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. For those not familiar, Undercover was first started back in 1989 by Mr. Jun Takahashi while he was a student at Bunka Fashion College. The brand’s gained a massive following over the year, in Japan and internationally.
Details are slim on the collaboration thus far but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Here we have some looks from travel goods maker Sandquist and their Fall 2011 collection. There are several new styles in different shapes and colors, some of which are really worth checking out. Their messenger bags, backpacks, dopp kits and everything else in the line are presented with minimalist detailing that will surely be a hit for next season.
The folks at Vane have had an ongoing partnership with Sebago for quite sometime now. They’ve collaborated primarily on footwear but the duo have been known to go well beyond that as well. They recently opened the doors to the latest installation of their concept store in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
Celebrating a successful four year collaborative relationship, the Store will feature the limited-edition Vane for Sebago footwear collections as well as a assortment of inline Sebago styles curated by Vane. The shop will also continually release exclusive store-only styles designed by Vane, and will also stock exclusive Vane apparel and jewelry. The shop will house more than just Vane and Sebago merchandise as we scoped some rare finds in the form of vintage Rolex watches and vintage designer frames from Carrera, Cazal, Christian Dior, Ultra and more.

We’re just days away from (capsule) New York and we were fortunate enough to sit down with Onia‘s Carl Cunow. The man’s an experienced vet of the menswear industry (more on that below) and with the help of his small team, he’s been able to really offer a swimwear brand that’s a cut above the rest. I personally stopped by their showroom not too long ago and I was really able to see why Onia is growing at an unstoppable pace. Carl’s a gifted talent and he’s shown that his brand is here to stay. Toronto’s Nomad has taken stock of a few styles from Alden including their iconic Longwing Bluchers in a light brown Eclipse leather shell and constructed on the New England brand’s Barrie last. They’re leather lined and feature a Goodyear welt design as well as double leather soles with a rubber dovetail in the heel for added durability and longevity.

Commuter by Levi’s delivers clothing designed and optimized specifically for the needs of urban commuter cyclists. Levi’s stores will be getting product from the line this week including a pair of 511′s and Trucker Commuter products. The pieces look to enhance performance and safety while still maintaining the brand’s reputation for being durable and simply timeless. The 511 Commuter (shown above) features fabric and a construction that looks to enhance mobility and durability and still protect cyclists on their daily commute. Look for these jeans in a full-length and cropped version in both denim and non-denim fabrics.
Cherchbi is set to launch a line of well-made bags for the upcoming Fall 2011 season. The brand’s looking to deliver an array of product but they’re starting things off proper with these bags fitted with tweed shells. Oh, and it’s not your ordinary tweed, folks. These guys have managed to copyright their own tweed, named Herwyck No. 10, exclusively for the label. It’s waterproof and is dropped at 13 different styles. (via Selectism)
