Moleskine has released “Inspiration and Process in Architecture”, a new series of cloth-bound monographs that look to explore the design process of various contemporary architects. With direction from Francesca Serranzanetti and Matteo Schubert, the works provide an intimate look into the creative process of an architect and emphasize the value of freehand drawing as part of the creative process. The first monograph series features four editions, each filled with interviews, bios and images from its respective architect: Zaha Hadid, Giancarlo De Carlo, Bolles+Wilson and Alberto Kalach. This time of the year is always pretty dry in terms of breaking news but we stumbled across this lookbook from the Revolver shop out in San Francisco. It highlights some of the goods in their Fall 2011 collection, shedding light on a solid lineup of brands, most of them being very new to the industry. Included in the mix are Metsa, Yuketen, Baron Wells, Makr, Tellason and a few others. (via the189)
Here’s a first look at Italian label Rose & Born‘s Formal wear collection. The offerings range from a well-designed tuxedo to proper footwear for the black-tie affair as well as a few different cuff links, all offered up in a black and gold finish. Look for the collection to be offered through Rose & Born in the near future.
We’ve seen our fair amount of navy ties with white polka dots but this variation from Drake’s London gives some added texture in the form of its Shantung silk construction. “Originating from China, this variety of the luxurious fabric has a raw, bobbled feel adding texture and flair to your dressed-up looks.” The polka dot necktie has this timeless elegance that not many pieces embody and with the longstanding history of Drake’s behind it, there’s not really much else we can ask for.
Here we have a look at goods from Louis Vuitton’s Holiday 2011 collection, with a strong focus on the accessories that are currently available from the Italian label. Included in the mix is a wide range of leather goods like wallets and phone holders as well as eyewear and wristwear. The pieces can be found now through Louis Vuitton boutiques and select stockists. Red Wing Heritage has released the 4563 Boot exclusively for Nordstrom, The 8-inch round toe work boot was first introduced in 1919, providing the comfort of an oxford with the durability of a work boot. “The benefit of the new style was the round toe design; achieved by eliminating a seam by using one larger piece of leather versus the previous practice of sewing together two smaller leather pieces.” The end result was a more durable boot and one that looks great as well. It features a 6-inch round-toe build and features a self-cleaning crepe sole with Goodyear welt construction.
Look for these at select Nordstrom locations across the United States including The Grove in Los Angeles, Cherry Creek in Colorado, King of Prussia outside of Philadelphia and Garden State Plaza which is the closest Nordstrom with the 4563 Boot outside of New York City.
