BMW M4 Concept Unveiled

BMW took the covers off its M4 Concept during a press conference in Pebble Beach, California. The BMW Concept M4 Coupe looks very close to the real thing, which may arrive at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January or the 2014 Geneva Auto Show in March. The BMW M4 coupe will replace the current BMW M3 coupe, with both likely to be unveiled early in 2014 with availability coming mid-2014. No word on what’s going to be under the hood but we’re expecting a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine to take place of the current model’s 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V8. Expect a ton of weight-saving strategies to take place here as well ranging from the model’s iconic carbon fiber roof to extensive use of high-strength steels to the aluminum-rich suspension hardware. Carbon-ceramic brakes can eventually be expected on the options list, together with aluminum calipers that are together said to pare more than 100 pounds from the car’s curb weight.

Expect more details in the months ahead. For now, check out the shots in the gallery and let us know your thoughts.
