BMW continues to expand their lineup, this time introducing the X4. The car is the baby brother to the German automaker’s X6 and is similar in size to the X3. Look for the same mechanical makeup as the X3 with a more sporty appeal. The US will get two powertrain options: the X4 xDrive28i, which comes with a 2.0-liter inline-four with 240 horsepower and a $45,625 pricetag (including destination), or the X4 xDrive35i with the 300hp 3.0-liter six and a $48,925 MSRP. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and come with all-wheel drive.

The BMW X4 will make its official debut at next month’s New York Auto Show, with production beginning shortly thereafter at BMW’s assembly plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
