The Raw For The Oceans (RFTO) collection stands as a collaboration between G-Star RAW and BIONIC – two innovative brands committed to producing quality goods with natural, unrefined materials. Beginning in 1996, G-Star first introduced wearable raw denim consisting of wood, concrete and steel. Continuing with this tradition, G-Star strives to bare denim in its purest form. Opportunely, BIONIC transforms fibers made from recycled plastic into durable textiles. By using ground-breaking technology to not only retrieve plastic from the oceans, G-Star and BIONIC cooperate to transform it into a new generation of denim.

This first collection of the RAW for the Oceans’ initiative has already innovated over 10 tonnes of the problematic ocean plastic. The RFTO collection includes men’s and women’s outerwear, jeans, t-shirts, and sweats. Major features center on dark Mazarine indigo blue to black hues and fabrics that are soft yet strong. The production mascot, Otto the Octopus, will also make an entrance. Look for these key features and more when RAW for the Oceans collection releases in store this September.
