Introducing the Blade helicopter app, a new service that provides crowdsourced short distance flights via helicopter. Partnered with Liberty Helicopters, the largest helicopter sightseeing and charter service in the Northeast, Blade provides first-class accommodations from Manhattan to the Hamptons and back. The twin-engine two pilot cabin class Dauphin aircraft service includes faster flight times, a quieter ride and enhanced legroom for six passengers. Blade’s mission is to raise market standards of customer service with affordable, available transportation. The free app allows you to either grab a seat from one of the scheduled times or to simply book your own flight and sell the seats under your name. Depending on flight time, a one-way ticket costs around $500 for each seat, a much-bargained alternative to a private jet.
