HBO has dropped a short teaser for Boardwalk Empire’s 4th season. We’re introduced to a new character played by Jeffrey Wright and also see shots of Chalky White in action. Check out the trailer below and expect more details in the months ahead.
Ron Burgundy and team are back for Anchorman 2 and here’s are a trailer to continue building the hype. There’s still not details of the actual story line itself but we’re that will start cropping up once the movie nears.
To promote the launch of the latest addition to their lineup, the F-Type, Jaguar teamed up with Ridley Scott Associates to create Desire, a 13-minute short film that takes place in the middle of Chile’s Atacama Desert. Damian Lewis of Homeland plays lead here as a delivery driver for high-end cars. This time, he’s behind the wheel of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and runs into a bit of trouble. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà and American actress Shannyn Sossamon are also in the film, showcasing that Jaguar’s pulling out all the stops to align with the launch of the 2013 World Car Design of the Year.
The F-Type’s interior is inspired by a fighter plane cockpit while more than half the car is made from recycled metal, with 80% less CO2 emissions during manufacturing compared to traditional steel welding. All-in-all, British automaker’s done an exceptional job crafting the F-Type and we’re excited to see it hit showrooms in the months ahead. Until then, enjoy Desire in its entirety below.
Last week, Dior Homme hosted its first ever fashion show in Beijing at the city’s Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Museum. Previously shown in Paris, designer Kris Van Assche put the label’s F/W ’13 collection on display while adding in exclusively produced tuxedos for the Chinese market. Jay-Z has dropped a new track dubbed “Open Letter” this morning produced by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. It was written less than 24 hours ago and is fresh off a trip to Cuba which some people aren’t happy about and word that he’s selling his stake in the Brooklyn Nets to be able to expand his Roc Nation Sports representation business into basketball.
Today marks the launch of Nigel Cabourn for Converse First String footwear collection, which features the Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey and the all-new Chuck Taylor All Star Specialty Plimsole. The UK-based designer is known for his infusion of military fabrics into his work, and that’s precisely what he’s done here with the First String collection. Cabourn examined Converse’s rich American heritage of boots and sneakers for the outdoors and the military and aligned the classic Chuck Taylor All Star Bosey with WWII flight suit fabric uppers in military-inspired navy and olive green colors.
Here we have another trailer for the movie adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. The Roaring Twenties; the Golden Age; the Jazz Age; Prohibition and bootleggers; flappers and speakeasies; peaked lapels, shorter jackets, and fedoras–what is not to love?
“The Great Gatsby” follows would-be writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.
This new trailer also showcases some new music that will be featured on the soundtrack, mainly a stand-out cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” by Beyoncé and André 3000. Jay-Z executive produced the soundtrack and also has a track with other notables on the tracklist including Jack White, The xx, Florence and the Machine, and Lana Del Rey.
NorthernGRADE, a Made-in-America menswear market produced by Pierrepont Hicks, is scheduled to do a pop-up shop in downtown Los Angeles next week with Apolis playing host. There are some great brands participating and it’s a great time to meet the people who created them. Some of the brands on the roster this time include 3sixteen, Baldwin Denim, Rogue Territory, The Hill-Side, The Windmill Club and many more. H&M has announced that Beyoncé will be the face of its summer campaign. Beyoncé is set kick off her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on April 15th and will be appear in television and print ads featuring pieces from H&M summer collection. The print and outdoor billboards introduce “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M”, the idea that all women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun, flirtatious. The campaign was shot in Nassau in the Bahamas by photographers Inez & Vinoodh, while the commercial was directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The clothing will be available beginning May in H&M stores worldwide and online.
