It’s been rumored for quite sometime but Apple has finally unveiled a Mac app that brings iMessage to the desktop. Messages replaces iChat but keeps all the goodness of the old platform. When you install Messages, it replaces iChat. But iChat services will continue to work. And Messages allows you to send unlimited iMessages to any Mac, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Connected via your Apple ID, you can start an iMessage conversation on your Mac and continue it on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Other features include the ability to send photos, videos, attachments, contacts, locations, and more. AIM, Yahoo!, Google Talk, and Jabber account integration is still supported, as was the case with iChat.
This also gives us a preview of what to expect from OS X Mountain Lion, the next Mac OS. Mountain Lion takes much inspiration from the iOS platform that runs on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Expect integration with Reminders, Notes, Notification Center, and much more.

Kanye West recently linked up with Odd Future’s Frank Ocean and Tyler, the Creator while he was in Australia. The imagery shows the trio at work on music we can’t wait to hear. Enjoy the shots as that’s all we’ve got for now.
Whitney Houston, the Queen of pop, has passed away at the age of 48. Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton hotel. Her body remained there and Beverly Hills detectives were investigating. Houston’s publicist, Kristen Foster, said Saturday that the cause of her death was unknown. Words can’t describe the impact she had on music and it’s really saddening to hear this news. She touched a lot of artists and this influence will surely continue. She sold 55 million records in the United States alone but she was recognized around the globe.
RIP Whitney Houston, August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012
Jay-Z and Kanye West have dropped the official video for “Ni**as in Paris,” the most infamous track off their Watch The Throne album which released last year. The video blends footage from their concert tour with a scripted performance and captures the essence of the shows quite vividly. This is dropping just days after Jay put on another memorable concert, this time in the form of a two-show stint at Carnegie Hall. 2012 is looking as promising as 2011 actually was for S dot.
Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen presented their Fall 2012 collection during this week’s New York Fashion Week, once again delivering staple items with some really amazing detailing. Look for outstanding outerwear alongside suiting in warm fabrics. The color palette is strong as well with neutral colors dominating and a few shots of color throughout to give the collection some edge.
Jeremy Renner stars in The Bourne Legacy, a story centered on a new CIA operative in the universe based on Robert Ludlum’s novels. This one’s a fresh take on the Treadstone Project that Matt Damon made famous in his trio of films for the franchise. The trailer introduces Renner’s character as “Kenneth Kitson from Reno,” an unpredictable wounded soldier who is recruited by the government branch to become a CIA agent. The film’s slated for an August release and will also star Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton as well as Albert Finney, Joan Allen, and David Strathairn from past Bourne films.
Ed Ruscha is featured in the Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook for Band of Outsiders. Shot on location at Ruscha’s studio in Los Angeles, CA on vintage Polaroid film. The shots are plenty and shed light on some of the key pieces from the spring season’s offerings. Look for Scott Sternberg to deliver some fine suiting as well as a few casual pieces like an amazing leather jacket, a mac coat, and shirting as well.
