Milk Gallery has opened the door’s to Bert Stern’s latest work, this time featuring one-of-a-kind renditions of Marilyn Monroe. The artist has been featured at Milk Gallery in the past as he shared his iconic collection known as “Picturing Marilyn” the last time around. For that exhibition, he pulled most intimate, never before seen archives. This time via “Marilyn Reinvented”, he quite literally reinvents iconic portraits of the beauty.

Marilyn Reinvented by Bert Stern can be viewed at Milk Gallery now through November 6th.

Earlier today, Justin Timberlake tweeted a link to this teaser of the New MySpace to his 13+ million followers. The site, now been acquired by Specific Media for 15 months and partially owned by JT himself, gets a complete makeover and the aesthetics and user flow seem to take inspiration from two other social networks – Facebook and Tumblr. Users will be able to login via Facebook or Twitter with the option to bring photos or other information with them so you don’t need to build from unless you want to. Status updates look similar to the mobile app Path, with photos largely displayed and user comments showing up underneath. There’s also a music component which allows you to browse albums, find popular songs and artists and more. Want access? Get in line at new.myspace.com.

So not to be outdone by the intense festivities taking place in New York City for FNO, Chicago’s Haberdash will be having an entertaining event of their own. Select pieces from the Red Wing historical archives will be on display, and complimentary tailoring will be available on all Levi’s Made & Crafted purchases. Representatives from both Red Wing Heritage and Levi’s Made & Crafted will also be available to speak with guests about each brand and its history.

Fashion’s Night Out 2012 is here and it’s bigger than ever, folks. We’re talking hundreds of in-store experiences happening throughout New York City. The historic department store has opened in 1901 and to celebrate their 111th birthday, they’re kicking off a season of celebrations. Featuring the launch of the new book “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf Goodman” (Harper Design), and an exclusive collection created especially for the anniversary by more than 100 designers.

Billionaire Boys Club & Ice Cream – 7pm to 10pm

The store will be releasing a special limited edition Billionaire Boys Club t-shirt in 2 colors as well as an exclusive collection from Just Don hats of New York City professional sport teams. Pharrell and Mark McNairy will be at the store from 7PM until 10PM to greet the first 100 customers.

Opening Ceremony is returning to the ACE Hotel for Fashion’s Night Out this year launching Korea as its country of focus. The hotel lobby will be converted into a noraebang, or a “private” karaoke room, where guests can participate in the favorite Korean pastime and sing among special hosts.

As a final highlight of the evening, several designers and friends of Opening Ceremony, including Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Band of Outsiders, Stevie J and Yoni P, and Tara Subkoff from Imitation of Christ, will participate in the “Closet2Closet” initiative, offering fun and one-of-a- kind items from their closets to be sold at FNO. Proceeds from this special sale will be donated to Broome Street Academy.

This might be one of our favorites of the night, folks. David Neville and Marcus Wainwright will be joined with cast members with HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, and a performance by St. Vincent at the Mercer St. store. In all stores, guests who purchase are invited to roll a dice at checkout to get a special shopping incentive on their final total. Additionally a gift with purchase over $350, containing a Boardwalk Empire DVD, a Le Labo candle and special edition rag & bone merchandise will be offered in a customized tote. rag & bone has also produced a jean for FNO.

Opening Ceremony has debuted its annual, limited-edition magazine — OC Annual. With the content to revolve around a certain theme each year, the inaugural issue focuses on Sports for the Olympic year. “With imagery and text by both iconic and up-and-coming photographers, artists, and writers, the magazine features a range of incredible, athletic content.” Look for OC Annual to also come in a unique iPad application, featuring exclusive content captured by Bruce Weber, Poppy de Villeneuve, and a host of artists. The print magazine is available now in limited numbers through Opening Ceremony.

Last week, Jay-Z announced that he’d be putting together a multi-day music festival in Philadelphia over Labor Day Weekend and today “Phase 1″ of the lineup has been unveiled. The artists announced are: Jay-Z, Pearl Jam, Skrillex, Miike Snow, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Odd Future, D’Angelo, Maybach Music (feat. Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill), Passion Pit, Santigold, Dirty Projectors, X, Janelle Monae, Prince Royce, Rita Ora, Savoy (DJ set), The Knocks. The two-day event will cover three stages on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park on Saturday, September 1, and Sunday, September 2. Budweiser and Live Nation are producing the performances, and a portion of the revenues will go to the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Wednesday, May 23rd, via Ticketmaster.com and Livenation.com. A limited number of 2-day tickets will be available for $99 (plus service charges). Tickets will be made available a day early on Tuesday, May 22 on Budweiser Facebook fan page.

Adam Yauch a.k.a. MCA of The Beastie Boys has passed away at 47 after a three-year battle with cancer. Yauch, a self-taught bassist and vocalist, was the eldest of the trio, which also included Michael “Mike D” Diamond and Adam “Adrock” Horovitz. After dedicating a cancerous tumor in a salivary gland, the band cancelled scheduled concerts and delayed the release of an album. It was only a month ago when The Beastie Boys got inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

MCA is survived by his wife, Dechen, and a daughter.

Google X, the California-based tech company’s low key development lab, has been developing this among several other creations for quite some time now and they’ve finally decided to let us in on what they’re cooking up. “A team within our Google[x] group started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.” It’s a more vivid picture of what’s to come — augmented reality eyewear that puts the world at your eyelids. Imagine being able to ditch your beloved smartphone and go hands free while controlling and seeing navigation prompts through your shades. There’s a ton more we’ve yet to learn about Project Glass but atleast now our mouths are watering. Check the video below to see what the geniuses over at Google have envisioned thusfar. 3×1′s Scott Morrison has teamed up with famed photographer Ben Watts to deliver this limited edition series of skateboards for charity. Lovely ladies Jessica Hart (pictured), Lake Bell, Elsa Hosk, Behati Prinsloo and Chanel Iman were shot in 3×1 jeans and little else for five board designs including 3×1’s logo along with Ben’s signature diamond motif and Hipstamatic lens borders. There are only 60 sets in total with all profits going to the charity of the models’ choice. Pre-order all five for $400 or individual decks at $100 each through 3×1 now.

IWC has made a one-of-one timepiece to honor Muhammad Ali at this month’s annual Celebrity Fight Night event. The event was founded in 1994 by Jimmy Walker as a means to raise money for local Arizone charities. This magnificent watch comes is white gold and features a black face with red Super-LumiNova, and a black alligator leather strap in red that’s meant to represent the hue of traditional boxing gloves. There’s a special inscription that reads “Edition Muhammad Ali, ONE OUT OF ONE.” on the case back alongside Ali’s signature. The ‘Muhammad Ali’ Big Pilot’s Watch will be auctioned off at the event on March 24th with all proceeds going to charity.
