From Dents comes these suede lined leather driving gloves, a lightweight winter essential. The elasticated, snap fastening cuff features a hint of red trim while there’s perforation throughout the gloves. The black finish is a bit more subdued than a brown or cognac variety so it will be a bit more versatile and conservative should the occasion call for it.
For those that follow us on Twitter (shameless plug), you may have noticed my declaration of love for Boardwalk Empire. The show’s set in Atlantic City during the Prohibition Era and is undoubtedly one of the most well-written shows on television today. One of my favorite characters in the show is Chalky White played by Michael Kenneth Williams, though it should be said that he’s been quiet the last few episodes, hopefully that changes. Back to the subject at hand, MR PORTER actually sat down with Mr. Williams for a brief Q&A, one that gives us a little bit of insight into the man he is off the screen. At the same time, they’ve also dropped a few accompanying looks as he sports the season’s best coats.
Garbstore of London has dropped some styled looks for Fall 2011, giving us a peek at what the shop will be carrying through the breezy months. The lineup is solid and features a strong mix of casual wear that can easily be spruced up should you need to. Amongst the brands featured in their Fall 2011 offerings are Epperson Mountaineering, Steven Alan, Gitman Vintage, Monitaly, Aircraft Armed and several others.
Filson drops this umbrella made from highly water repellent Cover Cloth. It’s strong enough to stand up to wind and rain yet light enough for easy carrying. This durable umbrella also features an embossed Filson logo on wooden handle and opens to about 40″.
From Christian McCann, founder of Left Field NYC, comes Choctaw Ridge. The label features well-designed and impeccably-crafted undergarments that are manufactured right here in the USA. The goods come in a 1930s style gift box that’s also printed and assembled here in America. It all started when Christian came across an old underwear box from the ’30s. The box represented an era when men put considerably more effort in their appearance and though this has been lost in many ways over the year, Christian looks to turn back the clocks by introducing product worth buying.
Here we have a look at Haversack’s Fall 2011 lookbook. This is most certainly one of the label’s most eccentric winter offerings as it features some vibrant prints. The fit looks to be as exceptional as ever however and there are definitely a few gems in the mix. The outerwear looks to be a pretty consistent point in the collection, with each offering as wearable as the next. (via cs)
Another collaborative effort between Shades of Grey by Micah Cohen and Ronnie Fieg, this chocolate and tweed baseball jacket is the second from the duo. The details are immense yet minimalistic, with premium cotton fabric shell and tweed sleeves, as well as stuffed quilted lining for added warmth. The jacket is limited to 42 pieces and will be available at Kithnyc.com today (Friday) at 11am EST.
The other night, we had the chance to stop in for Park & Bond’s Movember event at the Blind Barber here in NYC. For those not familiar, Movember is annual event that looks to change the face of men’s health. During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. Where do you come in? You support their efforts by donating and joining in on the movement as well. This way, the support grows as does the conversation around men’s health and specific cancers that affect us. A long list of gentlemen from Park & Bond’s team have joined Movember, and we were there on November 1st to witness a few guys known for their beards hop in the barber’s chair and wipe it all off.
To donate to Park & Bond’s team, head on over to mobro.co/parkandbond and get in on the conversation.
A small crew from Por Vocacao took a recent trip to Tuscany, Italy, home of shoe manufacturer Buttero. This video which covers their trip and gives us a look at the inner workings of Buttero, sheds light on a family-owned and operated company that’s extremely close in relation and one that’s filled with people that share the same passion for making quality product. “We learned about their ways, their craftsmanship, Tuscany’s unique leather making background and truly understood what sets Buttero apart from other shoe brands in the market.” The Sani family, owners and founders of Buttero, are true representatives of this Italian and their genuine love for the trade shows in this video. Enjoy.
