Aston Martin has unveiled the V12 Vantage S, the successor to the outgoing V12. With 565 horsepower and top speed at 205 mph, this 6.0-liter V12 allows for the new V12 Vantage S to be the fastest road-friendly Aston Martin ever built (outside the One-77). The third-gen seven-speed Sportshift automated manual transmission by Graziano shaves off 55 pounds while allowing for quicker gear shifts, similar to a dual-clutch setup. For the first time ever, Aston Martin is offering the ability to choose from three adaptive suspension damping modes — normal, sport and track. Design-wise, there are slight enhancements from the previous model, with the most noticeable changes being seen on the front grille.
Pricing’s projected around the $200,000 USD mark with availability coming early 2014.

BMW and Italian design house Pininfarina have teamed up to create the Gran Lusso Coupé. This one-of-one beauty was unveiled at the 2013 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and sits atop a shortened version of the 7-Series platform. It features a V12 engine, rumored to be the same twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter that dishes out 535 horses and can be found in the 760Li. This is meant to be a concept vehicle so no plans of production but that hasn’t been completely ruled out by the German automaker. What we can expect is some influence taken from the Gran Lusso and applied to future BMW models, with the next-gen 7 Series possibly being the perfect inflection point.

To promote the launch of the latest addition to their lineup, the F-Type, Jaguar teamed up with Ridley Scott Associates to create Desire, a 13-minute short film that takes place in the middle of Chile’s Atacama Desert. Damian Lewis of Homeland plays lead here as a delivery driver for high-end cars. This time, he’s behind the wheel of the 2014 Jaguar F-Type and runs into a bit of trouble. Spanish actor Jordi Mollà and American actress Shannyn Sossamon are also in the film, showcasing that Jaguar’s pulling out all the stops to align with the launch of the 2013 World Car Design of the Year.
The F-Type’s interior is inspired by a fighter plane cockpit while more than half the car is made from recycled metal, with 80% less CO2 emissions during manufacturing compared to traditional steel welding. All-in-all, British automaker’s done an exceptional job crafting the F-Type and we’re excited to see it hit showrooms in the months ahead. Until then, enjoy Desire in its entirety below.

Porsche has unveiled the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, two rear-engine monsters that make the 40th anniversary of the 911 a memorable one. It looks great and the performance numbers are phenomenal. The turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six engine makes use of twin, variable-turbine-geometry turbos. For the standard Turbo, we’re talking output of 520 horsepower, a 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph. Porsche’s Turbo S delivers 560 horsepower, 0-60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph. Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox handles everything and helps the Turbo deliver a Nürburgring time of under 7 and a half minutes. The wide body design for this generation of Turbo is really something else. It’s 1.1-inches wider than a Carrera 4 with hugely flared rear fenders. The Turbo S stands out with its standard full-LED headlight.Look out for a deployable, three-stage front spoiler, and a three-way rear wing.
Look for more details around the Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S in the months ahead, though here’s a price breakdown — Turbo model will start at $149,250, while the Turbo S will go for $182,050. First look video from Porsche below.
