With this year’s Apple WWDC hours away, the rumors are most-definitely piling up. John Gruber of Daring Fireball is positive the next-gen iPhone will be named “iPhone 3GS”. “I expect Apple to announce updated iPhones with significantly faster processors, twice the RAM, and twice the storage. I expected prices to remain the same as the current lineup: $199/299 for 16/32 GB, respectively. The video camera is going to be a major selling point.” John’s also expecting an entry-level iPhone with a lower price of $99.
As excited as we are, we’ve learned to take all rumors with a grain of salt. If you want to see what else John thinks, go here.

This fall, Shanghai’s Apple Store will open its doors for the very first time. Up until now, we didn’t know what those doors would look like, but we are glad that some generous chap out there leaked these images. Architect Ben Wood mixes Apple‘s glass-and-steel minimalism with more traditional Chinese design. It’s a massive structure with three stories and we’re assuming lots of spiraling stairs.

Matter, one of NYC’s up-and-coming design and art shops, has in stock this “Stack” storage tower by Established & Sons that really captured our attention. Made of MDF and Plywood, Stack is a tower of ‘floating’ drawer units that can be pushed and pulled in both directions. This will often result in a random and irregular formality that is both fascinating and unusual to the eye. Stack is available with 8 or 13 drawers.

The iPhone-like waiting lines might emerge this Saturday as Sprint and Palm are set to release the Palm Pre, a multitouch smartphone that periodically out smarts the iPhone. It’s got the standard features like GPS, Wi-Fi, camera, as well as tilt sensors. However, it’s got a smaller body, an actual keyboard plus a changeable battery. It’s also got the ability to multitask, allowing you to play internet radio while you read a PDF or even compare two open email messages, something the iPhone can not do.
So what will Saturday bring, bang or bust?

Pictured above is the official instrument set for The Beatles Rock Band which will hit stores come september. Images of Paul’s Höfner bass, John’s Rickenbacker 325 guitar and George’s Gretsch Duo Jet guitar have been flying around the internet. They’ve saved the best for last as Ringo Starr’s iconic drums with classic black oyster pearl finish and Ludwig-branded Beatles kick drum head. The complete package will surely cost a pretty penny but we know atleast one diehard fan who’s getting his mop-top wig ready.

Gizmodo has gotten their hands on the full keynote presentation of Sony’s new Motion Controller which was unveiled earlier at E3. It’s like the Wiimote but more simple and elegant. It uses a technique similar to Hollywood-style motion capture, with the PS Eye camera tracking a purple ball on the stick. There can be two sticks, which also have a trigger for first person shooters.
The only thing that upsets about this new toy is that it will be releasing the Spring of 2010.

As if carrying your umbrella, suitcase and your boss’s extra-starched laundry isn’t overwhelming enough, he just called to make sure you also get him a caramel macchiato. His exective assitant chimes in and requests the same. With the Tota Carrier, this take may become difficult.
Carrying more than one cup can be difficult and trays are unstable when walking and only designed to be used a few times. The Tota lets you carry up to 8 cups (2 units in each hand) safely with room for stirrers or sugar sachets. The comfy handle is a nice touch and the Tota can hold large or small cups. Obviously its built to last, great for those daily office runs to your favourite local cafe!
The carrier comes in a white styrene finish as well as a 3mm thick grey felt variety.
