With the highly anticipated Watch The Throne album releasing on August 1st, Jay-Z and Kanye West have dropped this ten-minute documentary giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how this collaboration came to life. Look for the digital version of Watch the Throne to drop on August 1, 2011 and the hard copy to release on August 5, 2011.
First Look | Uniqlo +J Fall/Winter 2011 Ad Campaign
Though we haven’t gotten shots of the entire lookbook just yet, here’s a sneak peek at what Uniqlo’s +J line will carry for its final run. The olive pea coat is a must have and would be a great way to see this collaboration off right. Well-fitting knits and warm fabrics seem to be leading the way for fall and with good reason. Expect this one to be a hit from the launch.

Unionmade of San Francisco has taken stock of a few pieces from Tender’s Fall 2011 collection. Though not a whole lot of stuff available just yet, these specific items will definitely get you through the late summer and early weeks of the upcoming fall season. The label continues to experiment with natural dyes and intricate construction processes. The Type 900V Jacket and Type 130 Slim Jeans are back, this time dyed with Mexican Logwood. There are few knits in the mix as well including the Type 350 Elephant T-shirt. If you’re looking for accessories, Tender’s dropped a few of those as well.
Bedwin & The Heartbreakers Fall/Winter 2011 ‘Stop Making Sense’ Collection
From Japan comes looks at Bedwin & The Heartbreakers and their Fall/Winter 2011 lookbook entitled, “Stop Making Sense”. The line’s got plenty of essentials for the colder months ahead including knitwear, well-fitting trousers and button downs as well as a few blazers in a slightly shrunken fit.
High Line Skating Rink, Made for All by UNIQLO
Selectism turns us to UNIQLO’s latest venture in Manhattan. Outside of building out a second flagship store in NYC, they’re looking to really impact the community with the High Line Rink. The Japanese retailer has teamed up with “Friends of the Highline” for this roller skating rink installation, the only open-air rink in Manhattan. It’s presented by UNIQLO as “part of a two-year partnership that supports the ongoing maintenance and operations of the High Line. Admission will be free for the first 500 people on the first two days of operation thanks to UNIQLO.”
The 8,000 sq/ft High Line Rink will be open from July 28 to September 26 and will be located within The Lot at West 30 Street and 10th Avenue.
Yigal Azrouel Spring/Summer 2012 Collection
New York-based Yigal Azrouel takes inspiration from painter Pablo Picasso for his Spring 2012 collection. It displays a strong mix of slim silhouettes, nautical prints and ethnic patterns. The line tackles the essentials but manages to keep its modern appeal with the use of leather, denim and cotton.
Baselworld 2011 | Victorinox Swiss Army Original
The Victorinox Swiss Army Original watch is really a great looking timepiece at an affordable price point. The details are immense and the design’s really well thought out. The 40 mm case is made from nylon fiber while the bezel is aluminum. The movement’s Swiss quartz and is held in place with the screw-in case back. The stencil-cut dial looks great and also shows the date. It’s water-resistance to 100 meters and comes with a matching NATO strap available in navy grey, commando black, desert beige or khaki green.
Ovadia & Sons Spring/Summer 2012 Preview
This week’s (capsule) show in New York had some solid brands on display, including one of our personal favorites — Ovadia & Sons. From their previous work, we know they can dish out some really amazing product and they’ve done just that with their Spring 2011 collection. WATM tells us this is just their 3rd season and the two brothers from Brooklyn are doing a phenomenal job offering pieces that are as functional as they are wearable.
Lavenham Fall/Winter 2011 Collection Lookbook
Lavenham’s quilted outerwear has turned into a winter essential of sorts, and that’s probably the reason so many other labels are trying to imitate but can’t duplicate. For their Fall 2011 collection, dug deep into their 40 years of archives to drop pieces that are deeply rooted by traditional stable workers and all things equestrian. Look for some of Britain’s finest materials to be utilized this time around including their wools, British Millerain wax and high performance yarn dyed woven polyester.
