2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe

2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe

Here we have a look at the 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe. It’s the perfect middleground between the M6 Coupe and the M5. The Audi S7 and Mercedes-Benz CLS63 will face their strongest competition with this monster, as it’s got the same direct-injected 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that’s in the M5 and M6 models, dishing out 560 horsepower and peak torque of 500 pound-feet. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an exclusive electronically controlled Active M Differential gives the M6 GC handling you’ve come to expect from the German automaker.

Looks-wise, the BMW M6 GC has that coupe-esque design but with a ton of aggressive enhancements such as a refined body kit, exposed carbon fiber roof panel, painted brake calipers and 20-inch wheels fitted with ultra-high-performance summer tires. In the cabin, look for Alcantara trim, a sportier, three-spoke steering wheel and well-bolstered, leather-wrapped seats.

BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept

BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept

Ahead of the 2013 Detroit Motor Show comes an official unveiling of the BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept. The German automaker’s decision to shift the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible over to the 4 Series badge has been in the works for quite sometime and here we are. Aesthetically, don’t expect the official 4 Series to be much different than what you’re seeing here as BMW is known to make little or no changes between concepts and their production model counterparts. Dimensions are shifted ever-so slightly with the new 4 Series Coupe sitting on a wheelbase that is 50 millimeters longer than the current 3 Coupe, and will be 44 mm wider and 16 mm lower.

With this comes a welcomed competitor to the native Maps app as well as a pretty clean aesthetic that matches that of other Google iOS apps. What did we miss the most, you ask? Well, public transportation directions was a huge gap and Google’s filling it quite nicely with this one. We’ll have to see how it performs in NYC. Also, Google Maps for iOS comes with a beta version of Google Maps Navigation, which has voice-guided, turn-by-turn navigation, and live traffic conditions as well. Signing in with your Google account also lets you sync searches, directions and favorites. Google Maps also has Street View for anyone that missed that.

The new Google Maps app is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch (4th gen) iOS 5.1 and higher, in more than 40 countries and 29 languages, including Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
