WWD is reporting Thom Browne is gearing up to open his first store outside of the U.S. in mid-March of next year. Tokyo’s Minami-Aoyama district will be home to a 4,500-square-foot Japanese flagship store that will be in close proximity to the likes of Prada, Comme des Garcons, Undercover, and others. Not only with the split-level store have the brand’s men’s and women’s collections, but there will also be a special area for made-to-measure. Interior design firm Wonderwall is leading the charge here and we’re expecting great success as their past projects have included many high-end shops including Colette in Paris.
“We’re really excited about the store both as a way to boost an already strong business in Asia and as an image statement,” Browne said on Wednesday from Milan, where he was working on the Moncler Gamme Bleu collection to be shown in January.

In a not-so surprising move, Instagram has rolled out web profiles for all users, allowing your friends (and stalkers) to check you out via desktop or mobile browser. This is great for folks that want to share their profile via other social media outlets with the recipient actually being able to follow you right from the site, rather than just the app. This also gives users a larger palette on which to edit your profile or view your past photos/comments. The URL address for your profile is just instagram.com/username. Our founder’s on Instagram under the @porhomme handle so be sure to check it out if you like.

There’s currently a lot of excitement around the Brooklyn Nets. They now call the Barclays Center home, a $1 Billion arena we got to experience this past weekend for the team’s season opener. Not only did the Nets win, but they did it less than a week after one of the most devastating storms hit the region. As we were exiting, everyone was handed a copy of BrooklynKnight #1, a 32-page comic book written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by Mike Deodato. Who is the BrooklynKnight, you ask? Well, according to both Marvel Entertainment and the Brooklyn Nets, the new mascot and NBA’s first super hero is the “protector of Brooklyn’s hometown team, defender of New York’s largest and most courageous borough, and ruler of Barclays Center.” Though we were lucky enough to get a copy of #1, fans at the November 11 home game against the Orlando Magic can expect a limited edition BrooklynKnight trading card courtesy of Marvel Custom Solutions and the Brooklyn Nets.

One thing that most people don’t put much thought into is the light bulbs they buy. Sure, you probably go for the most energy-efficient ones out but all you do is look for the Energy Star logo and you’re all set. Now, with technology evolving at such a rapid pace, it’s no surprise Philips has developed the Hue. Hue is a different kind of light bulb. It allows you to customize the look and mood of a room with each Hue light bulb delivering 600 lumens and producing all shades of white, from warm to cold, and a wide variety of colour. The Hue’s great for personal or commercial customization as you can connect up to 50 Hue light bulbs to a single system and control it all with your iPhone or iPad from wherever you are.
Oh, and it uses 80% less power than a traditional light bulb. Check out the video and purchase yours through the Apple Store.
