As part of their 75th anniversary, Barbour has dropped their original green Barbour International jacket in a limited-edition finish. Above is a distressed finish of the original green, giving the iconic jacket a perfectly aged look. No details were spared in the re-issue, but with the craftsmanship and work put into each jacket, it’s no surprise only 75 pieces of each finish, per territory, will be available.

The jackets will be in store come December but you can pre-order them now. Also, expect plenty of happenings and specials throughout 2011 as the brand continues to celebrate their 75th anniversary.

Michael Williams of ACL and Randy Goldberg of Urban Daddy are bringing back The Pop Up Flea to NYC this coming weekend, and it’s looking more grand than ever. The list of brands has increased tremendously since the last time around so expect even more great items and even more exclusives. The majority of items are said to be brand new but there will be some vintage stuff thrown into the mix by some of the brands as well.

Vendors include Oak Street Bootmakers, J.W Hulme, Levi’s Vintage Clothing, L.L. Bean Signature, Smith + Butler, Tellason, Billykirk, Aether, Tanner Goods, Scout Original, Wooden Sleepers, Riviera Club, Alexander Olch, Gant, Oliver Spencer, The Hill-Side / Hickoree’s Hard Goods, Grown & Sewn, Stanley & Sons, J.Crew, Gitman Brothers Vintage, Schott NYC, Digby & Iona, Alexander West, Leather Head / Lemon Ball, Mark McNairy and a few others that have yet to be unveiled.

The Pop Up Flea will be located at Openhouse Gallery at 201 Mulberry Street (btw Spring and Kenmare) in New York City from the 19th of November til the 21st. Hours of operation are: Friday November 19th (3-9pm), Saturday the 20th (11am-7pm) and Sunday the 21st (11am-6pm).

All-in-all, it’s going to be a sick lineup. There are brands here that we seldom get an opportunity to see in person, even in New York City, so we’re pretty excited.

We’ve always digged Fjällräven‘s approach to the industry. They focus in on a few specific areas and in those areas, they really give it their all. Travel accessories like their Kanken backpack are timeless and extremely durable. Their outerwear is another strong aspect of their overall offerings, one that’s only gotten better over the years.

We recently came across their Arktis parka and if you’re looking to stay warm, no matter what the temperature or altitude or wind speed, then definitely consider this piece. It’s reinforced in the front, on the sleeves and in the rear and is made primarily of legendary Fjällräven’s G-1000 material. The detailings are worth noting as the two bellow pockets are lined with fleece to keep your hands toasty while the adjustable hood comes with detachable, warm synthetic fur trimming that protects against snowstorms.

Michael from A Continuous Lean has been keepeing himself busy as he was recently over in Japan and thankfully for us, he didn’t leave his camera at home. He turns us to J’Antiques, an amazing vintage shop located in the Nakameguro district of Tokyo.

In addition to the beautiful merchandising, J’Antiques was stocked with great vintage. The shop has everything from paper goods to vintage military clothes to work wear and a shit-ton of antique furniture.  Granted, a lot of what is for sale there is from the States, but go for the inspiration, go for the wonderful dirty mix of old stuff and go to J’Antiques for that hard to find something that they beat you to.

It’s not easy staying warm and nowadays, there are plenty of brands “specializing” in outerwear. Honestly, I’d rather stick to the classic folks that have been doing it right since before my grandfather was around. This classic duffel coat by Brooks Brothers is timeless in every way, from the genuine horn toggle closure and center back vent to the pure wool shell and plaid lining.
