Five years ago Monocle hit the newsstands. Today it’s at the heart of a very modern media company – but also one with some old-school values. The publication has evolved from having nineteen employees to over seventy now and representation in over 100 countries. The type of work they do ranges from print to video to radio. Yes, radio. Monocle also launched a television series on Bloomberg TV. Their reach is far and wide and the content is as rich and newsworthy in its 51st issues as it was back in issue 2007 when issue No. 1 hit newsstands. What you’re seeing here is the newest and fastest car to ever enter Ferrari‘s stable — the F12 Berlinetta. The beauty’s V12 churns out 740 horses with 509 lb-ft of torque, allowing the F12 to go from 0-62 mph in 3.1 seconds and 0-104 mph in just 8.5. Bless the. It’s also the fastest Ferrari to lap around Fiorano, Ferrari’s private test track, breaking the 599 GTO’s record of 1:24 by a whole second. Design-wise, the F12 Berlinetta has a redesigned suspension and gearbox which makes for a lower and more rearward center of gravity, resting roughly 54 percent of the weight over the rear tires.

All the pieces are made right in Rancourt’s hometown of Lewiston, which happens to be very well-known for being a hub for well-known, locally-made footwear companies. London-based designer Ozwald Boateng had an exceptional showing at last week’s London Fashion Week. Though his Fall 2012 collection is not as vibrant as we’ve seen from him in season’s past, it’s still one to keep an eye on for next winter. The warm fabrics and muted tones play well together while the cuts deliver a well-crafted lineup of goods. The Japanese-inspired aesthetics blend well with the British roots of the label and make for some must-have offerings.
