Frank Muytjen and team at J.Crew presented this week at New York Fashion Week, showcasing both their men’s and women’s offerings for Spring/Summer 2014. Here, we have all the men’s looks from the show, giving you the opportunity to check out the diverse range of styles the American brand will be releasing come next spring. Chambray will be seen on a lot of the pieces while you can also expect a few nautical striped tops in the mix as well. There are a few suits and blazers coming for S/S ’14, all hitting stores just in time for the summer wedding season.
Todd Snyder has displayed an unparalleled level of endurance since launching in 2011. Every piece is meticulously crafted with the utmost attention to detail. For Spring 2014, Todd Snyder brings in rolled short-sleeve chambray button-downs, crisp nautical striped tees, and a range of trousers pulling influence from sea and sun of the Mediterranean. Look for micro prints, shawl-lapel tuxedo jackets, a smart single-pleat short, and patterned knitwear.
BMW has officially unveiled the BMW i8, slightly ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show that kicked off today. The hybrid sportscar is a two + two coupe with doors that go up and futuristic design cues that will be sure to turn heads. Power comes from a 1.5-liter, turbocharged, three-cylinder engine that cranks out 231 horses and 236 lb-ft. of torque which is then mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Add in the electric motor and you get an additional 131 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque through a two-speed automatic to the front wheels. That’s all-wheel drive motion with 362 horses and 320 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-62 time of 4.4 seconds. Fuel economy figures are impressive as well with 94 miles per gallon and a full charge coming from a 110-volt outlet in less than four hours. BMW Charging Stations can bring that time down to 1.5 hours.
Earlier today, designers Ariel and Shimon Ovadia debuted their Spring/Summer 2014 collection at their first ever New York Fashion Week presentation. The duo continues to impress with a slew of timeless offerings in the form of tailored suiting in sharp silhouettes. What really stood out is the outerwear lineup from Ovadia & Sons come next Spring. A lightweight reflective anorak stood out but the label’s neoprene moto jacket wins here. Look for a range of unique materials throughout the collection and a color palette that’s dominated with black and white but features pops of green and blue.

HODINKEE continues their relationship with Drake’s Of London as they’ve collaborated on another knit tie and added in a pocket square to the mix as well. The tie is again a silk knit (best on the market in our opinion), but this time, it comes in a beautiful red finish with gilt, hand-sewn dots. HODINKEE’s Heritage Tie could be the only red tie you’ll ever want to own. It’s inspired by the Tudor Black Bay, a gorgeous modern dive watch, and the HODINKEE team worked closely with the Drake’s to ensure the color match between the tie and the Black Bay’s bezel and gilt dial was spot on. Mission accomplished.
HODINKEE’s first foray into the pocket square market comes in the form of their Snowflake Square, which is inspired by another Tudor beauty, the Tudor Pelagos. The detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled as the thin silk square has hand-rolled edges and a great feel. The black and white colorway gives it a ton of versatility as well.
UK’s Trickers has teamed up with Japanese streetwear label SOPHNET. to create this shoehorn keychain. Talk about function meeting form. Each piece is engraved with Trickers for SOPHNET. branding in three different metallic finishes.
The SOPHNET. x Trickers Shoehorn Keychain can be found through select SOPHNET. stockists now.
Club Monaco has dropped the latest looks for their upcoming Fall 2013 collection. The lineup features a mix of casual and formal pieces, with much influence taken from British styling. Camel-hair coats and paisley-print suits stand out here as does a tuxedo to finish things off.
Here we have a look at Public School’s Fall 2013 lookbook. The duo behind the New York label, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, deliver a collection that’s filled with a strong lineup of leather jackets, well-tailored outwear, tops, and bottoms. The suiting is exceptional, as are the mid-layer sweaters we’re excited to see in person. Look for the pieces to drop at select stockists as well as Public School’s online store.
