Jil Sander has unveiled their first ever smartphone in collaboration with LG Electronics. The high-end luxury brand continues to push innovation and design and the Mobile is great looking phone that packs a punch. It features a 5 MP camera, wi-fi, FM radio and 16GB of internal memory. The phone runs on Windows Phone 7.5 and comes with an exclusive Jil Sander app. The app and the device’s user interface allow for vivid interaction with the brand, creating a dynamic interface between users and its seasonal collections, and even connect them social media activities and extra content. You can shop right through the app and even look through locations of international boutiques.
The phone’s design features Jil Sander’s signature electric blue and will be found throughout the line of accessories as well. The phone will be distributed through selected retailers in Germany, Austria, Italy, France and UK and will be available online at store.jilsander.com starting October 7th.
South 2 West 8, the outlet brand of the Nepenthes group, goes all black everything for Fall 2011 and offers up a fresh line of bags in nylon and premium leather materials. The range features sacks, totes and backpacks, all of which are available now at Nepenthes New York.
Opening tomorrow in Los Angeles is Aether‘s new concept shop, the AETHERstream. It’s a 34′ PanAmerica Airstream that will be selling some of the key pieces from the brand’s Fall 2011 collection. Paris-based designer Thierry Gaugain helped to create this ultimate shop on wheels. Aether found this RV and completely gutted the interior to redesign it from the floor up. The AETHERstream flooring is 11” reclaimed oak floor from Carlisle Wide Plank Floor. The sofa and table are custom made by Environment Furniture, who uses sustainable harvested wood and the reuse of otherwise discarded materials. Most props and other furniture were purchased at the Paris flea market.

Yesterday, Steve Jobs passed away at the age of 56. He will be truly missed by all that were touched by him, including myself. Not only did he change the scope of products, he shifted entire industries, with the music and computer industries being two that were influenced the most. But beyond all this, he was just a great person that wanted to get the best out of people. He was one of the greatest visionaries this world has ever known and he influenced an entire generation to “Stay hungry, stay foolish”.

Word is out that Tiger Woods will become a Rolex Ambassador come January 2012. Rolex has complete confidence in Tiger and feel he still has a long career ahead of him and that he has all the qualities required to continue to mark the history of golf. This comes just a few months after Tag Heuer dropped their endorsement.

Rugby Ralph Lauren have teamed up with Tweed Run to create the first ever Rugby Ralph Lauren Tweed Run. The duo look to bring the one-of-a-kind cycling event to the States, with all its classic tweed styles and British heritage influence coming along for the ride. On Saturday October 15th, New York participants will gather in the Village and will ride to Brooklyn while breaking for tea as well as a soiree on the way. There are prizes up for grab as well with categories like Best Vintage Bicycle and Best Dressed being two of the many.
This is such a perfect match as I personally believe Rugby and Ralph Lauren carry some of the best tweed ensembles on a consistent basis. For this special event, expect to see some collaborative pieces like silk scarves, flasks and saddles.
