For Fall 2011, Japan’s Beams+ introduces this bandana in an amazing yellow paisley fabric. It’s made in Japan and will work well as a bandana or a pocket square though I personally would toss this in my blazer’s chest pocket in a heart beat.
A move that’s long overdue, The Brothers Corsillo have finally taken their highly successful Hickoree’s online shop and opened their first brick and mortar establishment. Situated in the South Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY, the shop is a floor under their office where brothers Sandy and Emil have run both Hickoree’s as well as The Hill-Side over the past few years. The product’s as diverse as it is online with everything from wiffle ball bats and Blue Cow soap to parkas from Owner/Operator and new packs from Epperson Mountaineering. The shop recently collaborated with Fair Ends for two wool caps, both of which are available in-store now. (via Secret Forts)
Toymaker Uncle York has created this hand made figure of photographer Terry Richardson. The rare collectible features Terry’s infamous camera pose, signature shades and thumbs-up sign. “After Batman and Spiderman the most debated photographer is immortalized in the form of doll. Tattoos, camera and even nasty eyed!” Look for it now through colette and Uncle York.
From S.E.H Kelly comes another fall essential, this time in the form of a biscuit-colored lambswool rollneck jumper with inset slouch pockets on the side-seams. The details are immense but that’s something we’ve come to expect from the British brand. The soft, pliable lambswool is spun in Yorkshire in a light brown or “biscuit” finish that’s seldom seen on the market, making this piece a rare find. We’re really impressed with the construction as the chest and back of the sweater are finished in a warm, dense moss-stitch while the rest of the body and arms feature a lighter plain-stitch.
Copenhagen’s Norse Projects and Manchester-based retailer Oi Polloi have teamed up for this burnt orange military inspired anorak. The detailed shots below highlight the jacket’s waterproof shell and just make us want this jacket more than we already do. Find the jacket at Shelta and Oi Polloi.
With Inventory Magazine‘s Issue No. 4 right around the corner, we’ve been turned to Patrick Long’s contributed illustrations to the magazine’s latest installment of “Illustrated Examples”. The magnificent art here highlights the style of Owen and Simon, two of the gifted individuals behind Inventory. The magazine’s Issue No. 4 will feature more of Patrick’s work and we can’t wait to see what else the magazine will have in store for us.
A.P.C. takes the classic fishtail parka and adds a removable lining for added versatility while maintaining the piece’s timeless appeal and detailing. There’s a drawstring hood and hem which makes it more adjustable and the Wool/Ramie/Nylon shell makes it proper for any weather.
Here’s a look at a new video from Gant by Michael Bastian. It’s titled “Sunshine Days” and showcases the line’s recent S/S 2012 showing during New York Fashion Week. The collection takes much inspiration from the Brady Bunch Goes to Hawaii with bright colors on well-fitting pieces bolstering the lineup.
We initially got turned to D.S. Dundee a while back when we came across their outstanding footwear offerings but since then, we’ve seen what the East London-based label is capable of crafting. They utilize the highest quality fabrics and yarns right from Britain, in turn creating some really amazing pieces and supporting the community that raised them at the same time. The shots here highlight the upcoming season’s campaign shots which we’re expecting to be promoted through a range of mediums including digital and print.
There’s just something about freezing your toes off that turns me off to the entire winter months. There’s plenty of gear available to help insulate our bodies but very few brands are dishing out the goods to protect our toes from frost bite. I’m really talking extremes here but it’s good to know that a brand like The Superior Labor is looking to deliver the entire package. Their socks are hand made from thick polyester polyurethane in Japan and with the utmost care. The colorways are phenomenal as well as they will surely add some color to your muted winter ensembles.
