The Pirelli calendar has dropped for 2012 and continues the campaigns longstanding history of blending world-renowned fashion photographers like Karl Lagerfel and Mario Testino with A-list models and actresses. This time around, the calendar was shot in Corsica by Mario Sorrenti, who surprisingly is the first Italian to shoot the calendar from a company of the same origin. The women in this year’s calendar are: Isabeli Fontana, Natasha Poly, Saskia de Brauw, Lara Stone, Joan Smalls, Guinevere Van Seenus, Malgosia, Edita Vilkevicute, Kate Moss, Milla Jovovich, Margareth Made, and Rinko Kikuchi.

There are a total of 25 pictures that made it into the calendar, 18 black and white and seven in color. The calendar’s owner can choose who to feature every month–it’s an interactive calendar which allows you to switch the girls at will. Head on over to Fashionista for a full look at the images. In preparation for the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics being held in London, Royal Mail in the UK is releasing thirty First Class postage stamps, each showcasing an Olympic or Paralympic sport. The first ten stamps, going on sale on October 22, feature illustrations by artists from a range of disciplines. Artists are designing images of another 20 sports for stamps that will go on sale in 2010 and 2012.

The first trailer for 2012 has released, giving us some insight into the movie that we’ve been hearing much about. “Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.” The movie hits theaters November 13th, and stars John Cusack and Oliver Platt and is directed by Roland Emmerich.
