COMME des GARCONS has crafted three new wallets exclusively for Parisian outpost colette. The pieces are made from black polyurethane with zippered closures and a multicolored stars motif throughout, offered up in your choice of two pouches in different sizes or a wallet that offers both card and bill slots in addition to a coin pouch with a buttoned closure. The collection can be purchased both in-store and online now from colette.
Monster recently gave us the opportunity to give one of their latest designs, a collaborative effort with Diesel. The VEKTR takes much of what we know about the Beats-making headphone brand and throws it out the window, along with the mixed reviews of past headphones. These ones having a backing of a reputable clothing label and feature a design that’s equal parts functional and futuristic. Win-win. The multi-planar, tri-fold design can be easily collapsed to fit your backpack and pull out with ease with a detachable triangular cable for tangle free use. The quality of listening is higher than what we’ve seen in past designs, a sign Monster continues to focus on research and innovation even while reaching widespread success. Nepenthes has taken stock of Engineered Garments’ latest bag offerings for F/W 2012. The lineup consists of three different styles, each delivered in wool shells with rich detailing. The Daypack is a traditional backpack style bag with a heavy wool exterior and nylon lined interior and comes in Navy 30oz Melton and Navy Wool Camo. The Tool bag is a short leather handle tote bag with numerous exterior pockets to hold all your daily items and potentialy tools. From Italy-based aoúd comes an exceptional line of men’s jewelry. The label is does an amazing job blending natural stones in an array of finishes with silver and brass pendants, with seeds and coloured tassels of fabric. There’s a really ancient feel to the pieces with much symbolism and infusion of various cultures to come to very unique designs. We had the opportunity to try one of aoúd‘s pieces and we have to say the detail and craftsmanship is everything we expected and more. Columbus-based Homage recently teamed up with well-known Ebbets Field Flannels for their take on the classic baseball cap. They took a swooshed H and threw it against a rich red wool shell and added their logo print on the back for good measures. The result is a high-quality product made right here in the USA.
Hodinkee gives us a look at MB&F’s latest creation — the HM3 Poison Dart Frog. Their infamous HM3 Frog is comes in a black PVD-coated zirconium case against the 18k yellow gold screws and 22k yellow gold rotor. The contrasting details are magnificent but the looks run deeper. It’s designed after an actual poison dart frog, or Dendrobates Leucomela, whose black and yellow camouflage protects him in his natural habitat. Max Büsser and Co. have tweaked this beauty to perfection and with it being the very special piece it was crafted to be, there will only be ten pieces made available. Singapore’s Hour Glass will be the only retailer getting these.
