The Ad: The new “Hostage” Audi R8 Commercial

We loved the Godfather commercial that Audi ran for the R8 in last year’s Super Bowl. This year, they’ve come and given us more creative entertainment. eGMCarTech told us about the V10 R8 that was recently unveiled and now they’ve been kind enough to show us this video.

If you were robbing someone, would you hold a pretty girl hostage as your get-away ticket or an Audi R8? That’s the premise of the new R8 commercial.

What’s your answer?

The Campaign: Burberry S/S 2009 Ad by Mario Testino

WWD’s shown us Burberry’s S/S 09 ad campaign which was shot by Mario Testino. The shots are of course amazing, and with all that green talk we’ve been hearing, it really aims to define the season.

Petersham Nurseries, the posh garden center outside London that has a restaurant with dirt floors was the location for the shots. Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey was the man behind the master plan. We’re impressed and we’re sure you will be too when you see the…

The Campaign: “Same Day, Same Story” for Converse Dwayne Wade 4

We’re not a fan of the shoe, but we strongly believe in the abilities of Dwayne Wade.  We’re betting that his shoulder is better than ever and with the help of Michael Beasley, Wade and the Heat will playing for the Finals this year.

The “Same Day, Same Story” commercial featuring Dwayne for his signature shoe by Converse puts all the doubts to rest and shows us what’s going through Wade’s mind come gametime.

The video’s after the jump.

The Campaign: Amazon’s jaw-dropping WindowShop

Amazon’s WindowShop does something we wish some of our other favorite shopping sites would do.  It ditches the pages and sticks to content. WindowShop’s a collection of their most popular movies, books, music and other media arranged in a huge 3D grid, where every tile is a tiny demo of the product—a trailer, snippet or clip.  What’s more interesting is that it’s pretty smooth with no lag.  Yes, no lag.

Even though it’s in the Beta stages, we still think you should check it out at WindowShop.com and let us know what you think.

The Change: Best Buy’s new logo

Best Buy’s decision to change its logo has been long overdue.  At first, we honestly didn’t know what to say about it, but it’s actually not bad at all.  Anything’s a step up from the old school tag.  The logo debuted at the Mall of America in Minneapolis in August as more of a testing phase but word is that it’s going pro.

What do you guys think?  Is our second home better off with the new logo or is there someone out there missing the old school tag?

The Campaign: LL Cool J and Brian Urlacher for Old Spice Swagger

Weiden+Kennedy’s duo of Michael Illick and Eric Baldwin have done it again.  The first ad is LL Cool J showing us how he became so “cool” and the second features NFL superstar Brian Urlacher showing us how he lost his lisp and rose to stardom.  Both thank Old Spice Swagger for their turnarounds.
