We recently had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the 2012 Audi A7, a modern blend of luxury and performance. I’ve had the pleasure of driving other Audi vehicles in the past and this one definitely sits atop the list. Over the past few years, Audi has really become one of the most exhilerating German automakers on the market. The A7 was introduced earlier this year and we fell in love with it on first sight. The front end is aggressive with Audi’s symbolic front grill and iconic daytime LED headlight system playing the lead and delivering well against the sleek lines of the body. The rear is as elegant as it is sporty and gives the car a look that does more than rival the Mercedes-Benz CLS. The rear spoiler really tops things off as it comes up from hiding at the hold of a button.
2014 Audi e-tron Spyder
Is this the future of idea? We certainly hope so as the 2014 Audi e-tron Spyder is a gorgeous sports car with a few environmentally-friend enhancements to be quite the competitor in the coming years. Back in 2009, Audi unveiled a similar e-tron at the Frankfurt Motor Show, though that was based on an R8 and happened to be all-electric. This beauty is real-wheel drive instead of e-Quattro like that ’09 prototype and also features two electric motors and a V6 TDI to take things next level. The two electric motors on the forward axle are good for a total of 89 horsepower, and their juice gets combined with a rear-mounted, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 TDI’s producing 296 hp, for a grand total during full boost mode of 385 hp.
Theoretically, this beauty could jump from 0 to 60 in approximately 4.2 seconds. This is still a show car and no real word on when/if production will take place and what the e-tron will look like at that time, but it looks amazing. We’re pretty sure that’s what Audi wanted to know. (via autoblog)
Frankfurt | 2012 Audi RS5
With the Frankfurt Motor Show already underway, there’s a heck of a lot going on in the auto industry but we think Audi‘s had one of the best showings of the year with an unveiling of their entire S-line vehicles. Beyond that, we even got a chance to look at the 2012 Audi RS5 that got the same facelift as the rest of the lineup which focuses primarily on redesigned headlamps and tail lamps.
Audi Wins 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans
This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans in France was one of the most exciting to date as Audi Sport Team earned their first pole position in five years and eventually took home the win as well. Audi Sport Team Joest’s Benoît Tréluyer earned Audi their first pole position in five years while the team’s sister car locked out the front row. Early accidents eliminated two of Audi’s three entries, but the sole remaining Audi R18 TDI of Tréluyer, Marcel Fässler, and André Lotterer held off the trio of Peugeot 908s to claim victory by a margin of 13.8 seconds.
Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan won the LMP2 category, Corvette Racing secured the GTE Pro class victory, and Larbre Compétition claimed a one-two finish in the GTE Am category with Corvette and Porsche.
Commercial: Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI pisses off Maranello
In another creative commercial by the Audi marketing team, the R8 FSI is seen strolling through Maranello, hometown of Ferrari. The citizens were obviously not so happy about it and it showed in the ad. In case you didn’t know, the Audi R8 5.2 V10 FSI produces a total of 528 horses. The V10 is mated with an R-tronic transmission that helps to clock 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 196 mph.

Audi and BMW play chess in billboard battle
Things sure are beginning to heat up in the auto industry. Well, sort of. There’s a marketing war abrewing in California between Audi and BMW and it’s an entertaining one. On the corner of Santa Monica Blvd. and Beverly Glen Blvd Audi has put up some billboards showing the all new Audi A4 along with the headline: “Your move, BMW”. And Santa Monica BMW had just one thing to say to its rival – “Checkmate.” (more…)
Photos: Official Supercars of the Chechen Republic
The Chechen Republic has gone through two wars in order to gain independence from Russia. The second one didn’t go their way so they are still an entity of Russia and have been going through a rebuilding process for quite sometime.
Times don’t seem tough for these guys though. DesignYouTrust posted these photos under the heading: “Official Supercars of Chechen Republic”. Say no more, Dmitry.

The Ad: The new “Hostage” Audi R8 Commercial
We loved the Godfather commercial that Audi ran for the R8 in last year’s Super Bowl. This year, they’ve come and given us more creative entertainment. eGMCarTech told us about the V10 R8 that was recently unveiled and now they’ve been kind enough to show us this video.
If you were robbing someone, would you hold a pretty girl hostage as your get-away ticket or an Audi R8? That’s the premise of the new R8 commercial.
What’s your answer?
What we love: Audi R8 V10
Audi’s already had great success with the Audi R8. If the power from its V8 wasn’t enough, they walked over to the Lamborghini plant and grabbed the Gallardo’s 5.2L V10. The result: A car that deserves to be called a supercar. It’s set to push 525 horses and 390.91 lb-ft of torque.
With a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds and top speed of 196 mph, we’re just hoping this baby lands stateside. Unfortunately, Audi’s only told us that Germany will get the beauty in January at $180,000.

Spotted: Audi R8 in matte black in Germany
We’ve heard of plenty of cars being champagned with a matte-black finish but this one spotted in Germany is just too sexy not to tell you guys about. The R8 is an amazing car and in matte black, it looks even more amazing.
