Ghurka has come from humble beginnings in Connecticut to being respected the world over. This video gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Ghurka’s exacting design and manufacturing processes, and even lets us hear from longtime Ghurka artisans and collectors.

From Mismo comes an appropriately understated collection for the fall and winter months ahead, with some much welcomed twists weaved into the fold as well. For F/W 2013, Mismo introduces the highest number of new bags it’s ever done for a single collection, making it quite exciting to see the label expand to appeal to a larger audience while still staying true to their foundation in quality and design. The sophisticated new design scheme mixes the refined feel of the Full-Grain collection with the laid-back appeal of the M/S Fabric collection, providing some added versatility to the range. Look for some bold new fabrics in the mix as well including a rainbow camo PVC and an indigo nylon/linen blend.

Look for the Mismo Fall/Winter 2013 collection to be carried by select retailers including Mr. Porter, Barneys, Opening Ceremony and C’H'C’M to name a few.

Japanese bag maker master-piece has dropped a lookbook for their current spring and summer offerings. Expect to see a strong blend of materials and must-have colorways. Look for more mainstream shells like beige, navy and maroon set alongside Navajo, camo and tribal prints. Needless to say, there’s something in the lineup for just about everyone. master-piece has also introduced a leather collection to the mix. The S/S ’13 lineup includes backpacks, messenger bags and drawstring bags as well as key chains, wallets and pencil cases.

From Haerfest comes their latest collection, pulling inspiration from DeWain Valentine and the Light and Space Art Movement of the 1960s. Their use of aerospace materials to suggest, manipulate, and conceal light was a driving aspect of the new collection. Reflective gold leathers, translucent ghost PVC panels, and high density canvas to deliver fresh takes on some of Haerfest’s signature pieces. The lineup includes their overnight duffel, shell backpack, two handle clutch, as well as their E18 Book Sleeve.

Nepenthes has taken stock of Engineered Garments’ latest bag offerings for F/W 2012. The lineup consists of three different styles, each delivered in wool shells with rich detailing. The Daypack is a traditional backpack style bag with a heavy wool exterior and nylon lined interior and comes in Navy 30oz Melton and Navy Wool Camo. The Tool bag is a short leather handle tote bag with numerous exterior pockets to hold all your daily items and potentialy tools. This one’s available in Navy Wool Camo, Olive Wool Melton, and Navy 30oz Melton. The last style, the laundry bag, is an extra large tote with draw string enclosure at the top and backpack straps and can be had in Olive Wool Melton and Navy Wool Camo.

In 2003, Rikke Overgaard and Adam Alexander Bach launched Mismo, a bag company that looked to deliver high quality goods that were crafted from top-notch materials and fitted with minimalistic detailing. They’ve certainly succeeded as the label’s gotten global recognition and some tremendous cosigns from several major publications. They’ve taken the covers off their S/S 2013 collection, one that’s just as promising as their first and there are some distinct differences from past collections, all of which we’re happy to see. Rikke and Adam have loosened up a bit for the summer months, giving us bags that are fitted with vibrant colors and playful prints.

Mismo’s original mustard yellow makes a strong return, accompanied by new floral and denim-inspired materials, and a handful of new bags. The new styles are actually some of the most versatile bags we’ve seen on the market, as they allow you to shift from office to gym to a weekend getaway with ease. There’s no real label to each, so you can grab the one you dig the most and mold it to your lifestyle.

Here we have a look at Eastpak’s collaboration with Wood Wood for Spring 2012. Dubbed, “Desertion”, the collection features a strong military influence It’s done right here and we wouldn’t mind having a few of the pieces in our closet. The bags come in a range of styles, all offered up in a desert canvas finish.

Basil Racuk have released their classic Soft Brief bag for spring, this time finishing it in British Khaki Calfskin and lining it with vintage Moleskin. It’s a versatile bag that can used for office meetings or the accompany you on an occasional weekend getaway. They’re handmade by Basil in his northern California studio with all the materials being sourced locally in Cali as well. The bag is available now through Leffot.
