Here’s a first look at Stussy Deluxe’s collaboration with Seattle-based creative workshop, BLK Pine Workshop. For those not familiar, BLK Pine has had some really impressive collaborations in the past (Opening Ceremony, United Arrows to name two) though this is their first US collaboration. They’re known for making high quality accessories right here in the USA and are really good at mixing up the fabrics blending in vintage wools as well as waxed and duck canvas in the past. These totes by BLK Pine Workshop for Stussy Deluxe are made with heavyweight 18 oz. duck canvas and feature vegetable tanned, natural leather handles and a snap closure. They’re offered up in two sizes, with both being available in either a Black with Red nylon interior or Natural Canvas with Royal Blue interior.
We’ve got a few shots of the bags below that give us a look at how the bags were made in BLK Pine’s factory. The BLK Pine totes will retail for $130 for medium and $140 for the large and will be available in Stussy stores and online.
hard graft has been working on this one for a few years now and we think they got it right with the final product. Their 3Fold Multi-Use bag can be used as an overnighter, messenger/laptop bag or even as a carry-all in the Portfolio format. Every handle, rivet, detail is reinforced and supported on the inside for added support and comfort. The Italian artisans at hard-graft have given us a bag worth buying for just about any occasion.
New York-based Haerfest have unveiled their Spring 2012 capsule collection made exclusively for online retailer LN-CC. Dries Van Noten delivers this leather bag for the upcoming season. The crisp brown and beige horizontal pattern works well with the brown leather handles as does the navy canvas upper. The inside’s lined with brown canvas and features a pocket for all your delicate documents.
All signs point to 2012 being a big year for men’s bags and Sir & Madame are looking to turn the heat up with their Fall/Winter collection. Run by husband and wife team Autumn and Brian Merritt, the Chicago based store carries their own in-house brand as well as others. Sir & Madame’s bags and accessories blur the line between refined and rugged. Made in the USA, the collection is comprised of a mixture of weekend bags, totes, ruck sacks, key chains, and their iClutch iPad case. All of the pieces are made from Horween leather and canvas and denim sourced from LA. This Fall, we’ll see the launch of a buttery soft leather weekender.
From Munich based brand A Kind of Guise comes a look at their latest work — The Kilim Project. About two years ago, they took a trip to the Middle East and ended up buying used carpets from almost every country located around the Persian Gulf. Every carpet is hand knitted and a few of them date back to the 19th century. Over the years, they’ve collected more than 50 carpets to make a limited collection of 100 bags. Each bag is unique and handmade to perfection. Look for these to be available on November 28th.
Greg Selkoe’s latest endeavor, Boylston Trading Company, has certainly taken off on the right foot. They’ve done some really impressive collaborations since launching and their latest with Lexdray is one of our favorites. The capsule collection finds three of Lexdray’s signature bags in a new royal blue colorway. The Boulder Pack, Tahoe Duffle and Stockholm Brief messenger are fitted with some fine details as well including contrasting black details found on the base, zip, piping and handle, with lining coming in a red tiger-camo print. Each design is limited to 100 pieces and can be found for pre-order through BTC, with a full release slated for November 25th.
Lexdray has launched a video series to compliment their current Classified Collection. Each day, Lexdray will be showcasing a piece from the Classified Collection via 3D video, which have been crafted in coordination with LA production company, Wendel. Viewers get a 3D look at each bag so they can see all the intricate details from the military grade hardware to the weather resistant fabric.
We’ve covered the goods in the past, heck we even were even fortunate enough to take Lexdray on a trip with us a few months back. They blend Japanese craftsmanship and modern functionality and deliver them in all black shells. Each bag is individually numbered, and our personal favorite is the Tokyo Pack, the video of which can be seen below alongside another for the Boulder Pack. Be sure to follow the video drops on Lexdray’s blog to check out detailed looks at the Tahoe Duffel and Manhattan Messenger.
