Yes, more waxed canvas and cotton products! The fabrics have been seen on just about everything type of clothing/accessory you can name including bags and shoes, but have we had enough yet? I didn’t think so. Accessory maker Property Of… has dropped a few pieces with waxed shells, including a duffle, tote and a backpack. Our eyes are set on the Tommy Waxed Cotton Trip Bag and the Tommy Waxed Canvas Backpack, both available in a “tobacco” colored finish.

Hand made by Tannis Hegan in Vancouver, this canvas duffle has a few features worth noting.  Each bag is self lined and features one interior pocket with antique zipper. The bag handles are made from thick Italian leather and are reinforced with antiqued metal studs. Cotton twill shoulder straps  and an antique zipper are both enhancements that really highlight the label’s attention to detail and dedication to their customers.

The good folks at Lark have it available online, so you don’t have to head to their shop, which also happens to be in Vancouver.

Up for pre-order now at Oi Polloi is the Aviator Pack from Eastman Leather and Heritage Research. Included in the kit is the A-2 Flight Jacket, A-10 gloves, and Avitaors Kit Bag, all supplied in authentic wartime issue packaging.

The Aviator Kit Bag is made from a strong 100% cotton OD canvas, this is an exact copy of the original WWII USAAF aviators kit bag, in the early war pale OD shade. The A-2 Flight Jacket happens to be an exact replica down to the finest detail. It’s made from vegetable tanned Steerhide in an authentic Seal Brown finish. Other features include 100% plain weave cotton lining, dull nickel collar hook, and 100% wool tubular woven rib.

Property Of… drops the Tokyo Guy messenger bag in this much-welcomed blue finish. The padded nylon upper is great, but I think the suede bottom is what will appeal to most. It’s sure to be good for resting on any surface and the bag overall will help in breaking just about any fall.

In 2010, Los Angeles-based KILLSPENCER will be dropping its sophomore collection of bags. Hypebeast tells us, “Each bag is created with longevity in mind sourcing out some ultra durable materials up to par with military specs.” A Utility Pouch and the Accessory Case are added to an already established line of bags which includes briefcases, messenger bags, backpacks and carryalls. A few straps, keychains and holders are also added to the lineup.

Oki-Ni has taken stock of some fine luxury travel goods from Britain’s H by Harris. The current collection brings quilted laptop and weekend bags with a little bit of waxed leather in the mix as well. The hand quilted nappa leather is soft and is fitted on the Q5 weekender, the Q3 Rucksack and Q1 Skin Laptop sleeves. Look for the waxed leather on the SH4 weekender as well as the SH1 and SH3 Totes.

Siel Marschall is a family-owned establishment based out of Germany that’s known for their handmade outdoor goods. They’ve been doing it right since 1896 and still believe their best machines are their hands.
