Scott Sternberg’s Band of Outsiders has teamed up with Barney’s to bring us an exclusive line called “No Bunk! No Junk!”. It’s a bit more condensed than Outsiders’ Fall lineup, as it looks to hit a few basics, all done in crisp black and white. GQ tells us, “It’s Sternberg’s slightly twisted take on power-dressing: a basic black suit in not-so-basic corduroy; a leather jacket that doesn’t take itself too seriously; and a plaid shirt that’s just…a really great-fitting plaid shirt.” Only six Barneys locations are getting the collection for the holidays.

To celebrate the New York launch of Scott Schuman’s book, The Sartorialist, the street photographer has partnered up with Barneys for a pop-up shop at the flagship location in New York. Dubbed ‘The SartoriaLUST,’ the pop-up will have everything a Sartorialist would want, “A specially curated mix of clothes and accessories pulled from the entire men’s store at Barneys New York.”

While in Pitti this summer, Scott collaborated on a few special items with brands like: Boglioli, Roda and Sciamat, that will be sold exclusively at The SartoriaLUST. Plus, Al Bazar is sending a small selection of items all the way from Milan.

With the 10th of September approaching fast, we think it’s best we let you in on our five places to check out for the best experience and, of course, best deals. For anyone unfamiliar, Fashion’s Night Out is an initiative spear-headed by American Vogue, NYC & Company, the City of New York, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to give life back to New York City’s fashion industry.

Next only to finance, fashion is the second-largest sector of industry in New York City—the headquarters of more than 800 fashion companies employing 175,000 people and generating $10 billion in total wages. At City Hall’s May 20 press conference to announce Fashion’s Night Out, Vera Wang said, “To put it bluntly, if people don’t shop, people lose their jobs.”

It’s looking to be a grand occasion as all our favorite designers are joining the festivities. Time is limited as most events only run for a few hours, making a trip from one stop to the next a bit difficult so plan accordingly. To see where we think you should be Thursday night, hit the jump. Barneys has these training boots from Common Projects, giving us more of the Manhattan-based label’s simplistic and understated design philosophy. The Leather cap toe lace up boot is fitted with a side zip and snap-tab closure at topline in a dark brown shell. Like all Common Projects shoes, this training boot is also hand-made in Italy, giving reasoning to the cost.

The Fashionisto gives us a look inside Barneys’ Fall 2009 Mailer. This upcoming season is probably one the most consistent and fresh lineups we’ve seen in quite sometime. My eye’s are set on that wool suit by Band of Outsiders among other pieces. Tweed and other warm fabrics are playing a major among a few different designers, but that’s not surprising.

This coming Saturday, May 2nd, Band of Outsiders is teaming up with Barneys New York for their Summer Suiting event. The event will feature the chance to get custom-fitted suits as well as interact and converse with the talents and creatives behind the heralded menswear label. The event begins at 12:00 pm and runs only till 2:00 pm so interested parties should show up early to guarantee a spot.  

Barneys CO-OP is offering a young and fresh perspective to their contemporary stylings with their Spring 2009 mailer. Brands, including A.P.C., Marc by Marc Jacobs, Prada and Opening Ceremony are getting into the “spring” of things. Look for the lines to hit Barneys CO-OP locations in the near future.
