New York retailer Leffot has dropped another magnificent piece in coordination with New England shoemaker Alden. The “Greenwich” Boot is inspired by the spirit of Greenwich Village’s hipsters and Bohemians both fun and sophisticated. These boots can be worn equally well with a smartly styled suit or a pair of trashed jeans the boots themselves are “the statement”. The navy oiled nubuc upper is trimmed with black piping and fitted with nine black agatine eyelets and flat black-waxed laces. The soles feature Alden’s double water-lock oil soaked leather, which is flexible and waterproof. The folks at Leffot chose a, “360º pre-stitched reverse welt and mid brown sole and heel edges which is an extremely handsome contrast with navy.”

If you think the onslaught of snow on the East Coast is over, think again. Word is there’s another cycle visit the region next week. With that in mind, if you haven’t gotten the proper footwear for the region, we suggest you head over to New York’s footwear temple, Leffot. Lead man for the retailer, Steven Taffel, recommends the Alden PTB in a Kudu leather finish. “Kudu is an oily leather perfect for foul weather. In addition these boots have Goodyear brand lug soles, think snow tires for your car. Made on the Barrie last there is plenty of room for heavier socks to keep your tootsies nice and warm.”

The fact is we’re all going to be facing some downpours in the coming months. Although we weren’t able to make make it to Bread&Butter in Berlin, Wolverine has turned us to one of their boots on display — The Addison 1000 Mile Boot. Like its cousin the original 1000 Mile, the Addison is inspired directly from the company’s archive, made in the USA and all from Horween leather.

Blackbird’s been getting a few exclusive pieces from their collaboration with Alden of New England and the Hauff’s Department Store Boot will surely catch the eyes of enthusiasts the World over. This high top blucher boot with perforated straight tip was inspired by early 20th century uptown gentleman’s attire. You might have found a boot like this at Hauff’s, Ballard’s first department store.

NYC’s Oak has just taken stock of these washed desert boots from H by Hudson. The distressed black leather is aged to perfection and the brown detailing on the front panel gives the boot some much-welcomed contrast.
