The Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2013 collection was presented earlier today in Milan. The collection celebrates sartorial Burberry classics and heritage outerwear, offering up a wide range of trench coats, tailoring, topcoats, duffel coats, and donkey jackets to name a few. Cabans, Chesterfields and prints, needle-punched heart sweaters were also in the mix, detailed with fabrics like cashmere and velvet. The colour palette featured classic trench, camel, Windsor red, dark royal purple and dark racing green.

Through Burberry’s Runway to Reality initiative, consumers can now order the men’s F/W ’13 collection exclusively on Burberry.com. Coats and accessories are available to purchase for one week until Sunday, January 20th. Each piece is made to order and delivered in just eight weeks.

Here we have a look at Burberry Prorsum’s Resort 2013 collection. With shots of both the men’s and women’s lines on display, we get a chance to see the label’s exceptional styling and layering for the winter months ahead. The color palette is really something else with dark greys and blues seen blended with olive and a pop of salmon here and there as well. Complete looks below.

Christopher Bailey leads another tremendous showing as Burberry Prorsum presented their Fall/Winter 2012 collection on the runways of Milan. The silhouettes range from heritage trench coats, double breasted top coats and cropped bomber jackets to field caban coats, tapered turn-up trousers and other fine pieces. Mr. Bailey utilized some proper winter fabrics for the line with some amazing detailing to boot. Look for an autumn color palette as well which puts shades of khaki alongside camel, dark auburn, burgundy, plum and a good set of greys and charcoals as well.

Burberry takes its iconic trench coat and delivers it in a Taupe suede finish, though effortlessly keeping the brand’s longstanding heritage intact. It features all the proper details of a traditional Burberry trench — the two buttoned front pockets, epaulettes, belted cuffs, rain guard — and brings a heavier shell that will prove to be resourceful in the colder weeks and months ahead. The double-breasted closure provides added insulation while the hint of red on the belt closure on the front gives that added attention to detail.

From Burberry’s Prorsum collection for F/W comes this Italian-made orange leather tote bag. The design is a modern take on a classic tote as it features two handles, two internal patch pockets as well as one internal zipped pocket. There’s plenty of space for your day-to-day goods like laptop, camera, books and maybe even a few outfits if you’re running away for the weekend. The metal feet keep this rich leather off the ground while the subtle black trimming throughout the bag really give the bag some added detail.

Burberry Prorsum for Spring 2012 looked great on the runways of Milan and designer Christopher Bailey’s vision for design and craftsmanship are coming to life. The detailing on the pieces for S/S ’12 are immense, with crocheting, stiching, embroidery and handblock prints all making their way into the lineup. The color palette was definitely more earthy this time around as it featured pops of garnet or bright indigo here and there as well.

Spring 2012 is a long way off from where we’re sitting but Christopher Bailey and Co. have dropped looks at Burberry Prorsum’s pre-Spring 2012 collection. Here’s what the designer had to say about the offerings:

This collection started with our iconic heritage as the foundation, we really wanted to emphasise this feeling of artisanal and decorative pieces that had been touched by hand, celebrating craftsmanship but always with this playful element. We have taken our icons and played with texture to personalise and give them a real character and charm using colour to highlight the intricate detail that goes in to crafting them.

We’re expecting some of this gear to be available sometime during the next round of runway shows, similar to what the brand did earlier this year for the Fall 2011 collection. (via Selectism)

The fun’s kicked off at this season’s Milan Fashion Week and the Burberry Prorsum A/W ’11 menswear show is leading the way in more ways than one. If you recall during last year’s show, Burberry gave their Creative Director, Christopher Bailey, the reigns to the company’s Twitter account to interact with the masses and give up constant updates leading up to the show. This year, the British-bred label is utilizing new technology in ways we’ve yet to see in the fashion industry.

The show was available via a global stream on the Burberry website which actually allows folks to instantly purchase the men’s collection through innovative “click to chat” functionality immediately following the live broadcast. Orders can be placed for one week until Sunday January 23rd and will be delivered within two months, giving the high fashion global consumer instant gratification receiving their product ahead of standard delivery times.

As for the product, needless to say it was phenomenal. Mr. Bailey leveraged the company’s longstanding reputation in the outerwear segment and dished out a plethora of coats for next winter. Honestly speaking, some of the detailing is outlandish but delivery is on point with plenty of well-cut trenchcoats and parkas in heavy wools.

We turned you to the live stream of Burberry‘s Spring 2011 show, but now that we’ve gotten our hands on the stills, we can really take the time to appreciate each look and see which direction the Brits are taking come next spring. One thing we can always count on Burberry for is an amazing lineup of trenches as they never fail to deliver. Christopher Bailey brings some great colors to the palette and his approach and delivery is apparent in the fresh looks he displayed on the runway in Milan. It’s a shame we can sport these until 2011.
