Chelsea boots aren’t for everyone but we’re really liking what we’re seeing from Buttero. The Italian shoemaker’s crafted a pair in a deep tan leather that’s clean, versatile and extremely wearable. The archetypal boot style features a slightly pronounced upper front section and is outlined by a slim leather sole and a lower heel. Side metal zips, leather insoles and sewn leather soles make this a must-have for the spring and summer months.
Por Vocacao has just taken stock of their largest ever drop from Buttero and it’s one worth checking out. Atop the list of products are two styles of their classic suede sneakers reworked for A/W ’12. Available in both a hi-top and low-top silhouette, the latest sneakers present the same quality construction the Italian brand is historically known for, with vegetable tanned leather (suede) uppers mounted on smooth style rubber soles and featured alongside contrast toe caps and other nifty details. For this AW12, however, Buttero have scuffed the soles a bit, giving the new sneakers a slightly broken-in look.

Buttero has released their Ripple Sole boat shoe in two new color versions, both of which are fitted with supple leather and suede uppers mounted atop the brand’s trademark ripple sole for the current season. The boat shoe formula is pushed forward with a few well crafted details like the folded cuff used to channel the leather lacing, the hand sewing and stitching on the vamp or the contrast natural leather welt running around it.
The shoe is available in dark green leather and brown suede, matched with brown or blue soles and can be had now through Por Vocacao.
Here’s one Buttero’s standout pieces from their S/S 2012 collection — the ripple sole boat shoe. The upper is offered in either rich dark grey suede or china blue leather and feature Vibram’s Gumlite ripple soles, making them light and highly comfortable to walk on. With amazing attention to detail throughout the by-hand manufacturing process, we’re not surprised at how good the final product looks because we’d expect nothing less. Available now through Por Vocacao.
Buttero’s known for their impeccably crafted footwear and now the Tuscan shoemaker has teamed up with Dutch brand Denham for a small line of sneakers. The pieces feature vegetable-tanned leathers local to Buttero’s hometown of Stabbia and the brand’s roots show in the construction as each shoe is made via traditional methods. In order to give their new trainer-inspired designs an added dose of freshness, they have modified these styles for by integrating a pure white leather toe-piece, a minimalistic detail that’s exclusive to Denham. We recently featured Buttero when the folks at Por Vocacao took a trip out to the Italian brand’s factory in Tuscany. Now, we’ve gotten word of the two collaborating for the first time on a special pair of derby shoes. They’re handcrafted in Italy from finely selected, vegetable tanned horse leathers and are available in three colorways; taupe, dark brown and black, with the last two featuring a striking greased finish on the suede uppers. Sewn leather outsoles with protective anti-slip rubber and leather insoles reading “Buttero for Por Vocação” complete this exclusive shoe. With a limited production, these shoes will only be available through our physical and online shop.
A small crew from Por Vocacao took a recent trip to Tuscany, Italy, home of shoe manufacturer Buttero. This video which covers their trip and gives us a look at the inner workings of Buttero, sheds light on a family-owned and operated company that’s extremely close in relation and one that’s filled with people that share the same passion for making quality product. “We learned about their ways, their craftsmanship, Tuscany’s unique leather making background and truly understood what sets Buttero apart from other shoe brands in the market.” The Sani family, owners and founders of Buttero, are true representatives of this Italian and their genuine love for the trade shows in this video. Enjoy.

These look undeniably comfortable and will surely deliver the warmth when time comes. They’re handcrafted in Italy and come in beige or brown. Fine details include brass eyelets with leather lacing and a contrast leather detail at heel. Leather midsoles and Vibram outsoles with stitched welt give these boots a solid foundation.
