In part 1 of our week with the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C350 Coupe, we gave you all a look at the exterior of the newly designed beauty. We drove the C350 Coupe everywhere — work, play, errands and, yes, shopping. We can go to the mall anytime but we really wanted to see how the car would handle on a slightly longer distance and so we decided to take our first ever trip to Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets. It’s a short while outside of New York City and the drive is as relaxing as it is scenic. We won’t be disclosing what we bought but here’s how it all went down.
The all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe hit showrooms earlier this month and before we even saw one on the road, the fine folks at Mercedes tossed us the keys to a C350 to check out as part of their C-Coupe Your Week campaign. This is a true two-door coupe, folks, and nothing like the C230 Sport Coupe of generations past. Not only does it take inspiration in the looks department from its older brethren, the C-Coupe also packs more power over its four-door siblings. The C350 Coupe features a new, direct-injected version of Mercedes’ 3.5-liter DOHC V6 and redlines at 6,750-rpm. The coupe packs 302 horses compared to 268 of the sedan and more torque as well. Normally you’d expect more power to equal less fuel efficiency but that is not the case here as C350 Coupe actually gets better highway mileage than the C-Class sedan.
