BMW has announced the launch of a new tour which gives viewers the opportunity to see all 17 automobiles designed as part of the BMW Art Car Series. Seventeen of the world’s most famous artists worked to create this collection including Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol, Jenny Holzer, Frank Stella, and more. For the first time, an extensive virtual overview of the origin, history and development of the collection is available on the Internet.
Earlier this week, custom clothier Seize sur Vingt hosted the American Le Mans Series Teams at their Greene Street boutique in celebration of the Northeast Grand Prix Lime Rock. The folks brought along their cars as well with a full-on takeover of the block. In attendance were Extreme Speed Motorsports, Genoa Racing and 12 year old go-kart champ Santino Ferrucci. A Ferrari 458 Italia, Ferrari California, Ford GT, Aston Martin DB4 and a white on white 1987 Turbo Esprit Lotus were also brought to the scene.

BMW recently showcased a limited edition version of their M3 sedan at this year’s M Night event at Nurburgring 24-hour race. The M3 CRT utilizes carbon fiber technology to reduce weight, achieving a weight-to-power ratio of 7.7 pounds per horsepower in the process. The CRT saves about 99 pounds over the standard M3 sedan, with power still coming from the 450-hp V8, allowing the BMW M3 CRT to go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds.
The interior’s been really did up with plenty of carbon fiber accents and two-tone detailings and bucket seats that are made from a cellular carbon honeycomb. Only 67 units of the M3 CRT will be made, with availability in the European market rumored to be at €130,000 EUR for the vehicle.
This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans in France was one of the most exciting to date as Audi Sport Team earned their first pole position in five years and eventually took home the win as well. Audi Sport Team Joest’s Benoît Tréluyer earned Audi their first pole position in five years while the team’s sister car locked out the front row. Early accidents eliminated two of Audi’s three entries, but the sole remaining Audi R18 TDI of Tréluyer, Marcel Fässler, and André Lotterer held off the trio of Peugeot 908s to claim victory by a margin of 13.8 seconds.
Greaves Motorsport Zytek-Nissan won the LMP2 category, Corvette Racing secured the GTE Pro class victory, and Larbre Compétition claimed a one-two finish in the GTE Am category with Corvette and Porsche.
China is now Porsche’s second largest market with nearly 14,000 units sold per year. The automaker’s been in the market for ten years to mark this anniversary, they’ve released ten units of a special edition Porsche 911 Turbo S. The Porsche 911 Turbo S china 10th Anniversary Edition is powered by a 3.8L flat 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine making 530-hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The beauty is mated to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, allowing it to thrust from 0 to 6o in less than 3.3 seconds and top out at 195 mph.
The aesthetics are amazing as well as The Porsche 911 Turbo S China 10th Anniversary Edition comes standard with a Gold bronze exterior, carbon-fiber hood, matte black wheels and the Sport Chrono Package and Launch Control. Though we covered the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster a few weeks back before its official unveiling, here’s a look at the rag-top convertible in all its glory. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster is fitted with a 6.3L V8 front-mid engine that dishes out 563-hp and 479 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transaxle transmission and a sports suspension with aluminum double wishbones. Utilizing the AMG DRIVE UNIT, the driver is allowed to pick from three different suspension modes including Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. The fabric soft-top of the 2012 SLS AMG Roadster opens and closes in just 11 seconds and can be operated on the move at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Dean and Dan Caten of DSQUARED² have unveiled their Life Ball Mini Cooper S Red Mudder. This Mini’s redesigned to tackle any obstacle or terrain with its new front gaurd, rally headlamps, tinted side windows with grilles and a spare tire on the tailgate. To take handling to the next level, the Cooper S is fitted with raised chassis and deep-tread all-terrain tires. Oh and if you’re rolling through the Mojave and forget which way’s home, just follow the newly-fitted compass on the inside.
Considering the twin brothers are Canadian, it’s only right the car have a maple leaf on the outside as well as the leather head restraints on the inside.
