So not to be outdone by the intense festivities taking place in New York City for FNO, Chicago’s Haberdash will be having an entertaining event of their own. Select pieces from the Red Wing historical archives will be on display, and complimentary tailoring will be available on all Levi’s Made & Crafted purchases. Representatives from both Red Wing Heritage and Levi’s Made & Crafted will also be available to speak with guests about each brand and its history.
Guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres from Osteria Via Stato and tastings from Chicago’s own Koval Distillery. Bottom line – if you’re in Chi-town, make your way over to Haberdash for a great time. Please RSVP via haberdash@zapwater.com. More details below.

Wow, well we know the arrows have been pointing to Miami but to hear from LeBron James’ mouth really put the world on still. LeBron is going to the Miami Heat to play with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in the fall. I’m short on words, but I’m not sold on this yet. I personally would’ve love to see him bring a banner back to the Madison Square Garden, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see who will come to New York that will be able to do that.
Next season will be interesting to say the least.

This Saturday, the Art Institute of Chicago will open the doors to its Modern Wing, the largest expansion in the museum’s history and probably the most expensive ($290 million = yikes). The new three-floor facility offers 65,000 feet of new galleries that will house both modern and contemporary works, photography, as well as architecture and design collections and will make AIC the second largest museum in the United States.
Pritzker Prize-winning Italian architect Renzo Piano enhanced the Modern Wing’s lighting (among other things), making it abstract and subtle enough to keep all eyes on the art. After viewing the images, we have to say that the Modern Wing and AIC fails to disappoint.

The home at 7244 S. Prairie Ave. once owned by mobster Al Capone and his family is on sale now for $450,000. Located in the working-class South Side neighborhood, there is no other Chicago home that matches the history of this home. Even if it double what most homes in the area are selling for, it’s worth noting that the modest brick house has had just two owners since Capone’s mother died in 1952.
