Robert Geller beat out other new kids on the block Benjamin Bixby, Rogues Gallery, Save Khaki, Shipley & Halmos, and Yigal Azrouël to be named this year’s Best New Menswear Designer by GQ and CFDA. So what’s next for Robert, you ask? Currently, he’s creating a mini-collection to be sold this September at levi.com and select Bloomingdale’s locations for one month (and other retailers thereafter). Oh, and what’s he going to do with that $50,000 grand prize?

This fall brings Umit Benan’s Fall 2009 line to fruition with suits, shirting, knits, and outerwear made from Italy’s finest fabrics of Italy’s finest manufacturers. His motto however is, “What you see is not what you get.” Case in point, a rough-looking sport coat is really just an inverted cashmere houndstooth check, where the world sees the underbelly and the handsome fabric is a bit more discreet.

Blackbird’s just gotten a shipment of Rag & Bone jeans for S/S ’09, varying in cuts from straight leg, slim straight and skinny. All jeans are handmade in the USA, more specifically in the Big Apple.
