Next week, Todd Snyder and Champion will be showcasing their Fall/Winter 2013 collaborative effort at PROJECT NY. The men’s sportswear line, entitled “City Gym”, is inspired by archival Champion pieces and vintage photos from the New York Athletic Club. Snyder designed the collection in partnership with Champion’s Chief Design Officer, Ned Munroe, and Design Director, Joanne Sessler. The lineup blends the best styles and fabrics from Champion’s vast archive of sales catalogs with Snyder’s love of classic American tailoring. The end result is a collaboration that sees the designer add a modern aesthetic to archived Champion’s apparel and shedding light on the authenticity and quality of the American brand.

Blue Blood is a ‘new luxury’ denim and fashion house and their Spring ’09 line is out in full force. Here’s what they have to say about themselves:
Our name is Blue Blood because
We have indigo coursing through our veins
This symbolises our love of denim and its history
Our name also refers to heritage and Aristocracy
We boldly claim lineage to great names in fashion and denim
A tribute to those who came before and inspire us
The lobster is our mascot
Because lobsters have blue blood
Just like us

His motto however is, “What you see is not what you get.” Case in point, a rough-looking sport coat is really just an inverted cashmere houndstooth check, where the world sees the underbelly and the handsome fabric is a bit more discreet. Manchester-born Barracuta and its original G9 Harrington jacket is almost as old as the company itself (founded in 1937) and yet so timeless. In a collaboration with Beams +, the Barracuta G9 does away with its typical use of traditional materials in favor of an Olmetex designed polyester which offers a Teflon-coated treatment and a feel unlike your usual polyester materials.

Yesterday, the Fashion Insider got wind of Steven Alan collaborating with Uniqlo, but it seems that now one of our favorite designers is jumping onboard with the Japanese giant. Rumor has it that Opening Ceremony is set to work with Uniqlo in the near future and we sincerely hope this rumor’s true.

That seems to be what Alan told The Fashion Informer. In the intro to the conversation, the blogger writes Alan “is gearing up for the spring 2009 debut of his Steven Alan for Uniqlo collection.” Who knew you could just casually slip in such important info as if everyone knew about it.
A spokeswoman for Uniqlo said she couldn’t comment on the collaboration so we’re hoping to hear more than what TheCut has revealed in the coming weeks.
