Japanese label COMME des GARCONS has opened two new shops side-by-side in Berlin. Rei Kawakubo looks to fuse the brand and the city’s longstanding heritage, allowing the two shop setup to merge with its surroundings in a lively residential area. The BLACK SHOP appropriately sells the brand’s BLACK line, while the POCKET SHOP next door sells more accessories including perfumes and wallets. Mimicking a convenience store, the shop sells permanent products and ever-changing limited edition items. More looks at both shops below. (via frameweb)

SENSE Magazine gives us a look at what to expect from the Supreme x Comme des Garcons SHIRT capsule collection that was announced earlier this year. Expect a box logo (reversed) tee and hoodie, both with Comme’s signature polka dot pattern. There’s also a camp cap, button down shirt, and a pair of work pants in the mix as well. The drop is to coincide with Dover Street Market’s Ginza store opening in Japan while you can also see these pieces to land in select Supreme stores next week.

Paris Fashion Week has come to a close but we couldn’t part ways without highlighting Rei Kawakubo’s latest work for Comme des Garcons. The Fall 2012 runway show was filled with a ton of interesting looks, though that was to be expected. The models were dressed appropriately for the theme of the new collection: Neither Man Nor Woman. The pieces were a mixture of traditional mens pieces and a few that might look most familiar on your lady friend. All-in-all, it’s a tremendous collection that blends high quality fabrics with eccentric design.

Junya Watanabe of COMME des GARCONS continues a fruitful collaboration with The North Face with this winter down coat from the eYe COMME des GARCONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN line. This piece is really well-thoughtout as it features elements from military-inspired classics like the N-3B and B9 and blends it with modern detailing. Note the leather trimmed pockets, classic check on the inner lining and the corduroy collar to top things off. The removable hood features fur and a central zip as well. Look for this piece to hit select accounts soon with an MSRP in the $1,750 range.

CdG drops this fine leather iPad case in a few different colorways, each made of fine leather and design with a minimalistic approach. The case features a few interior pockets as well as credit card slots, all fitted with leather lining. Each case all features branding in gold print on the inside.

Junya Watanabe COMME des GARCONS MAN is teaming up with Levi’s Vintage Clothing, with the initial collaboration being for these LVC 1954 denims for the Fall 2011 season. These 501s are the original tapered style jeans and feature various materials throughout the patchwork including leather, plaid flannel and corduroy. The corduroy waistband, re-positioned back pockets and an additional center seam down the back of the leg add to the fine detailings of these denims.

Rei Kawakubo’s delivers a fascinating showing of Comme des Garcons’ Spring 2012 collection in Paris. “Tailoring for punks” was the theme with an emphasis on Edwardian elegance which featured chisel-toed footwear, well-tailored garments in classic fabrics. Colors of choice this time around were mostly blacks and shades of pink.

Gold zippers? Count me in, folks. It’s detailing like this that drives quality product home for me. This small wallet comes in soft black leather – something we’ve seen plenty of times – but when mated with a gold metal zip closure, it makes a world of difference. The wallet’s unlined and has one coin compartment down the middle. Definitely worth picking up if you want to switch it up on ‘em.

From Comme des Garcons comes this double stripes shirt that’s made in France to perfection. The base style features blue and white vertical stripes while CDG would never be satisfied with such a generic finish. They went ahead and added horizontal stripes in a contrasting blue across the chest as well as some solid blue detailing on the sleeves.

Levi’s recently crafted a limited edition trucker jacket for COMME des GARCONS Junya Watanabe Man and from the looks of it, they really dug deep on this one. It features the iconic Levi’s denim jacket shape but comes in a softer jersey cotton shell. Apart from that, all the usual detailings are in play like two button flap pockets, a Levi’s red tab on the left chest pocket and adjustable button hem and cuff openings.
