Rogue Territory just released part two of their Spring/Summer 2013 collection and dropped a lookbook showcasing the new product for good measures. Known for their well-fitting, functional menswear, the latest items are everything we’ve come to expect from Los Angeles brand. They have some light weight military and classic work wear inspired pieces that are perfect for this coming season. We are in love with the Canyon wash, inspired by 2+ years of raw denim wear and wash, which can only be described as “buttery.” The Rough wash is great for those who don’t want to wear raw denim in the summer as it’s dark with light contrasts and soft to the touch. They also have short sleeve shirts, shorts, and light weight officer trousers which will definitely be on our regular rotation for warmer days.
Rogue Territory’s S/S 2013 collection can be had through select retailers as well as Rogue Territory online.

Here’s something unique from Swedish brand Nudie Jeans. The brand’s been exploring opportunities to be more eco-friendly and this started a few seasons back when they introduced a line of organic denims to their mix of offerings. Now, they’ve started to turn worn out or destroyed denim into recycled rugs. The result’s outstanding as the Post Recycled Denim Rugs are made from worn-out Nudie Jeans. Each rug is produced by cutting used denim into serrated strips that are then sewn together and rolled. All pieces are produced in Turkey and be available exclusively at Nudie Jeans House in Los Angeles and Nudie Jeans Concept Stores worldwide with a price tag of $599 USD.

A collaboration we feel long overdue, LA denim brand Rogue Territory teamed up with Amsterdam outpost Tenue de Nîmes for a pair of jeans that pay homage to denim legend Wrangler. The jeans are based on the ‘Stanton’ slim-straight fit and are made from a 14oz ‘broken-twill’ from Cone Mills with a ‘double out seam’: two of the most important characteristics of the old Wrangler cowboy jeans. Broken Twill’s a denim weave that’s seldom used these days but the fabric breaks in very nicely and it’s a shame we don’t see more of it. It was originally developed by Wrangler as a solution for the natural habit of a yarn to twist and the thereafter ‘twisting legs’ of jeans.

Our friends at Gear Patrol turn us to Japan-based grooming brand retaW (that’s Water backwards) and their new MOOD* Denim Fragrance Liquid. The purpose of the spray is to make your perfectly broken-in denims smelling fresh without you throwing them in the wash or reigniting the stiffness that comes from drying them. GP also informs us that this bottle of goodness won’t harm the color or fabric of your jeans. The spray can be had at retaW for $24.

Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nimes is known for their passion for denim and they’ve got a slew of solid collaborations to prove it. They’ve really hit a new high this time as they’ve teamed up with Okayama-based denim brand Momotaro. The piece is made from a multi-yarn, 12 oz. sulphur denim fabric. This cloth is twenty year old deadstock that was sourced at the Rampuya factory warehouse in Japan. Because of the limited amount of material that was available, the Momotaro factory could only produce 17 pairs. All the jeans were made in Japan and are for sale exclusively at Tenue de Nimes for €329,90 (~ $431).

Nudie Jeans have unveiled a limited edition of their Slim Jim style – ‘Post Recycle Dry’, a US exclusive for Barneys NYC and Barneys.com. The fabric is produced in fabric recycled from old worn Nudie Jeans denim. A processing technology has been developed where old denim is cut, milled down to a pulp, and then blended with virgin organic cotton to generate a new fabric. The slubby denim has a soft feel and an exceptional fit in the form of Nudie’s straight-fit design. Other details include zip fly closure, tonal stitching throughout, and organic trims.
Only 500 jeans have been produced worldwide in this fabric, with each style uniquely customized with a numbered Limited Edition pocket lining. Look for these beauties through Barneys for $215.

A pair of perfectly washed denims is a tough find these days but Nudie’s been seen as one of the top denim brands out for quite sometime now and running through their extensive lineup of offerings makes it pretty easy to find a solid pair in any style or finish you want. This specific pair, the Lab Tim Nudie 24, is everything you could ask for as it’s got all the proper fittings of a broken-in jean. It’s made from 14 oz selvage denim from Japan and features a ton of character. Some of the aspects to note include the natural made damages as a replica of a pair of old dry worn in Nudie jeans, local dirt effects, damaged hem and the natural wash effect seen on the side seam. Beyond this, you’ll also see the selvage edge coin pocket and silver trims as well as the Nudie orange threads throughout.
Though broken-in already, these Nudie jeans are made in Italy and are most definitely made to last. Find them at Nudie.

Travelteq and Tenue de Nîmes have co-created a limited edition Laptop Bag that looks to combine the best of two worlds, as it is made from Florentine Vacchetta leather and a characteristic Japanese selvage Chambray. The leather gets its beautiful deep cognac color thanks to the vegetable tanning process. The bag is fitted with eight compartments, 3 of which are zipped, plus one for a cigar and one for your laptop (max 15 inch). This collaboration is limited to 50 hand-made pieces, produced at the Travelteq factory in Tuscany, Italy.

We recently had the opportunity to visit 3×1, a fairly new shop denim brand and the third venture of designer Scott Morrison following Paper Denim & Cloth and Earnest Sewn based in New York. Being the denim fanatic that I am, Scott’s past work (especially Earnest Sewn) really had me excited to see what 3×1 was offering up. There’s only one location and it’s on Mercer St. in SoHo. The shop houses a 4,000 sq. ft. retail and gallery space, an entire manufacturing facility as well as their 3,200 sq. ft. design studio. Each pair of 3×1 jeans is created on site and tailored for the customer as Limited Edition, Custom Made or Bespoke. Yep, bespoke denim.
