Monster recently gave us the opportunity to give one of their latest designs, a collaborative effort with Diesel. The VEKTR takes much of what we know about the Beats-making headphone brand and throws it out the window, along with the mixed reviews of past headphones. These ones having a backing of a reputable clothing label and feature a design that’s equal parts functional and futuristic. Win-win. The multi-planar, tri-fold design can be easily collapsed to fit your backpack and pull out with ease with a detachable triangular cable for tangle free use. The quality of listening is higher than what we’ve seen in past designs, a sign Monster continues to focus on research and innovation even while reaching widespread success. We’ve put together a short video (below) for your viewing, giving a closer look at the headphones and showing off some of the VEKTR’s finest aesthetic details.

We’ve featured pieces from Diesel Black Gold in seasons past but we’re really digging the Spring 2011 collection. They’re really utilizing a full scope of the color palette and bringing out leather in several different styles. It’s all in the details.

From Diesel comes the Bruce Duffel. This rectangular nylon travel bug is fitted with grey nylon webbing trim, a front zip pocket and an I.D. slot with a leather velcro cover. It’s definitely more unique than your traditional duffel as it has duo rolled handles as well as a detachable adjustable shoulder strap with side hooks that really give it some character. It’s available in black or olive green.

The control time onward boot by Diesel Black Gold is made of blue distressed supple leather. With a 1″ wooden heel and a leather sole and leather padded footbed, this ankle boot’s definitely making its way to my closet very soon.

This year, Diesel’s introducing the Black Gold collection, an upscale line that breaks away from the norm, but still keeps the distinct elements familiar in a Diesel collection.  It was first introduced last year, but was officially unveiled at New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in February.

“We were pioneers in introducing premium denim to the luxury world and now we are ready to define a new concept of pret-a-porter,” said Renzo, Diesel’s president and founder.  “Diesel Black Gold is an exclusive collection dedicated to those looking for the unpredictable Diesel spirit blended with a sophisticated individual style.”

Wilbert Das lead the team that designed this line and says it, “boasts fashionable pieces, refined fabrics, unexpected detailing, and special treatments, all combined with Diesel’s strong personality and casual twist.”  The collection will bear its own unique tag featuring gold lettering on a black backdrop.

The collection will be available worldwide in about 850 wholesale contemporary points of sale and 150 premium Diesel stores, including Diesel’s new virtual store Diesel Style Lounge.  Check out some of the pieces below and let us know what you think.
