At this year’s CES, Samsung unveiled their first 4K TV. With sizes in the 85-inch to 110-inch range, the S9 UHD 4K TV features some amazing feature and unparalleled screen quality to boot. The “Timeless Gallery” frame design showcases the juxtaposition of a minimalist concept with such a large display. With this being a Smart TV as well, users will now have the ability to access plenty of the platforms applications and utilize voice and gesture controls to get things done. Other notable features include high contrast ratio, 2.2 channel audio, integrated scaler and a fast quad-core processor.

We just got an email this morning notifying us of CircuitCity.com‘s return to the online shopping world. What to expect? Well, apparently there are “lower prices, new faster shipping, and world-class 24/7 ‘Customer First’ Service.” Last week, Circuit City, CircuitCity.com, and the old CC’s customer email list was all acquired by Systemax Inc., an electronics retailer that’s been in business since 1949. They’re also entering the social networking spectrum with links to their RSS feed, Twitter and Facebook.
There are some pretty good deals on there right now but check it out for yourselves and let us know what you think.

And there you have it, people. Circuit City’s shutting down its remaining 567 stores and putting roughly 30,000 people out of a job. This happens just a two months after they shutdown 155 stores. No word yet on the fate of outstanding warranties, its Firedog repair service, and Canadian stores. The retailer had posted several huge losses late 2007 and early 2008, but the onslaught of bank failures in September and October really hit them hard. Remember their incident with Sony delivery trucks?

Yes, it’s really gotten that bad. The NYSE’s downgraded the hell out of CC and their credit lines are diminishing. Sony’s completely pulled the plug because they don’t think that Circuit City’s going to be able to repay their current credit line.
Deliveries to nationwide Circuit City distribution centers were stopped in transit and ordered to return to Sony “among worries that Circuit City couldn’t pay for the shipments.”
Now that’s very unfortunate. Black Friday’s coming a little early this year at your local CC.

Best Buy’s decision to change its logo has been long overdue. At first, we honestly didn’t know what to say about it, but it’s actually not bad at all. Anything’s a step up from the old school tag. The logo debuted at the Mall of America in Minneapolis in August as more of a testing phase but word is that it’s going pro.
What do you guys think? Is our second home better off with the new logo or is there someone out there missing the old school tag?
