Here’s episode two of VOYR’s series which gives us a behind the scenes look at Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne tour. This time, Kanye leads the way as he takes a trip down memory lane, visiting his old neigbhorhood and highlighting a few memories in the process.
Common, the 39-year-old hip-hop veteran slash actor slash writer has had an exceptional 2011 to say the least. It’s been mostly a turning of a new leaves as he’s explored new avenues like authoring a book — his memoir, One Day It’ll All Make Sense — and even landing a role on AMC TV show Hell On Wheels. Beyond all the new, the Chicago-bred artist stays in touch with his old self with the release of his upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer. Slated for a December 20th release, the album features appearances by fellow Chi-Town native John Legend, Nas and an original work by Maya Angelou. Common even takes a shot at the soft-sounding works of contemporaries with a new song called “Sweet”.
Interview Magazine spoke to Common about the track, Hell on Wheels, and his memories of living with his late colleague, celebrated producer J Dilla. A few notable excerpts can be found below with the full feature available at Interview Magazine.

We’d like to think that Jay-Z’s had one heck of a 2011. He launched a digital magazine, launched a collaborative effort that’s unmatched by any hip-hop duo from the last twenty years if not ever and is now about to be a father with Beyonce by his side. He’s been crowned King and is one of 2011′s GQ Men of the Year. Now, he sits down with GQ’s Alex Pappademas to talk about Kanye, Basquiat, and fitting the car seat in the Maybach.

News of Jay-Z releasing The Blueprint in a limited edition, numbered vinyl set to mark the album’s 10th anniversary broke early last week. I was so busy grabbing one for myself that I didn’t even think to turn you all to it. “My bad” on this one. Fear not, it’s still in stock on Jay’s online store on Live Nation. Each one is individually numbered and limited to 2001 sets.
Killer Elite stars Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro, giving us an all-star cast in this action-packed flick. It’s been quite sometime since we last saw a lineup of this caliber and coupling that with this well-produced story line will surely make for a cloud-pleaser. We’re huge fans of all three actors which we think is reason enough to buy a ticket. So here’s the rundown — Killer Elite pits two operatives, Statham and De Niro, against a leader of a secret military society, played by Owen. It’s an international game of cat and mouse and we really can’t wait to see how it all pans out.
The movie is in theaters now nationwide and we’ve got the official trailer plus a clip of the opening scene below to give you a hint of what’s to come.
In theaters today is Drive, an action-packed thriller starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan. The Gos stars as a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. We’ll let the trailers below breakdown the details but from the shots we’ve seen, we’re sure the movie will deliver on many accounts. Also, we couldn’t help but to notice Ryan’s impeccable taste (brown leather driving gloves) shining through in this role in a more understated manner, so this may be worth checking out for style inspiration alone.
