The Steven Alan Home Shop is now open in the New York neighborhood of Tribeca. The team worked with folks at Fort Standard to transform their old office space, and brought in items from Steven Alan himself as well as some of the team’s favorite vendors, from cookware to frozen foods. Steven Alan also teamed up with local furniture designer Jason Pickens on a limited line of made-to-order sofas and even collaborated with Brooklyn Glass on a collection of glassware.

Acura and Studio Dror recently collaborated on a limited-edition desk inspired by the automaker’s role in Thor, the new Marvel film that’s due out May 6th. The S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Desk features a graphite and light wood base with subtle insignia on legs. The Acura TL’s chassis inspires the finish and the overall aesthete of the desk is very refined. We like the clean look of it all like the concealed Bose speakers and secret drawers and compartments. There’s also a discreet iPhone/iPad docking station.

Designed by Henrik Pederson for Frandsen Projekt, the Bait Floor lamp is very simplistic with a carbon fiber rod, with a movable brushed steel weight that acts as a counter balance that can be slid along the lamp to adjust the height of the lighting. Daily Icon explains that, “At the same time the carbon fiber rod will naturally adjust its curve like a fishing rod which is the inspiration for the Bait Lamp.”

With the fall season just around the corner, it’s time we start preparing for the cooler weather. Normally, we’d recommend a piece of apparel but a cozy chair made from natural wool is a worthy replacement. Charlotte Kingsnorth says her Felt Up chair is cut and folded in two places, a flat piece of felt has created a new space. When sat upon it cocoons the occupier, lulling them into a state of relaxation. The felt is 16mm thick, enough to get us through our hibernation period.

Loll Designs has give the classic Adironack Chair a go green makeover, crafting the refined piece completely out of recycled polyethylene. The material has unparalleled durability, as the team first used the same material to create skateboard parks. This material is fade-resistant, waterproof and maintenance free. It is Loll’s philosophy that “using green products should not mean you have to sacrifice anything; it should be better in every way than its non-eco-friendly counterpart.”
The chairs are available in an array of colors and are made in the USA, so don’t be hesitant when picking up yours for this weekend’s BBQ.
