Anyone that knows me also knows I love socks and colorful/eccentric ones at that. Mack Weldon‘s fairly new on the scene but they’re looking to do men’s basics right and boy are they off on a great start. Their offerings range from underwear and undershirts to tees and socks, all infused with high-quality fabrics, some forward-thinking tech detailing and an outstanding fit.
That’s what it’s all about, right? Find the undershirt that’s comfortable and doesn’t bunch up on you or expose itself when you’re wearing a button-down sans tie. Socks need to be bought with the comfort of knowing they won’t slouch and will provide the right amount of cushion and support throughout the entire day. Each piece is engineered to promote comfort, mobility, moisture and odor management, and recovery. With a specially formulated 18-hour jersey fabric, underwear and undershirts retain their shape after repeated wear and wash with a minimal amount of shrinkage.

This past weekend, New York’s 5th annual Pop up Flea played host to the second leg of LVC’s “The Biker with Oil and Leather & The Bikeriders” exhibition. LVC’s Fall 2012 collection pays homage to the rebellious spirit and renegade style of the American biker – white t-shirt, black leather jacket and the classic 501®. To take things next level, the brand teamed up with 13 artists and illustrators from around the globe to customize black leather motorcycle jackets with the use of oil paints, with 21 jackets designed in total. The results are tremendous with designs that cover even the most minute detail.

Louis Vuitton has launched its Foulards d’Artistes scarf collection in Tokyo with help from Olivier Zahm, editor-in-chief of French fashion magazine Purple. The scarves, designed by a group of international artists, made their retail debut at Dover Street Market Ginza this past Saturday with other LV stores getting the goods next month. Zahm also shot a series of photos of the scarves and brings more light to another photography exhibition he is doing at Tokyo’s Last Gallery, originally owned by the late Dune magazine founder and publisher Fumihiro Hayashi.
The Foulards d’Artistes collection is produced each season in collaboration with a specific artist, and for this edition New York-based Japanese creative Aiko was asked to create the new, graffiti-inspired prints. (via super)

On their way to watch-world domination, seems the folks at HODINKEE have scheduled a few stops. They’ve already gone through an amazing site redesign and even launched an in-house line of hand-made Italian straps, pouches, and travel rolls. Now, they’ve teamed up with London’s Drake’s to create a limited edition tie collection inspired by two of HODINKEE founder Ben Clymer’s favorite watches. Drake’s of London is the pinnacle of men’s neckwear and accessories for as long as even my father can remember. Today is truly a momentous day, friends. These knit ties are woven with the highest quality silk yarn in the world, and the dots are hand-sewn with silk thread. No two ties are the same.

From Montreal-based Raised by Wolves comes their Lunar Cycle Varsity Jacket for F/W ’12. Every year, it seems there’s always one standout varsity that catches everyone’s attention and we think this is 2012′s equivalent to GANT Rugger’s Homerun Jacket of 2010. The subtle and well-thought-out details on this one make it a must-have piece because we’re just not sure we’ll see one like it for quite sometime. It’s made in the good ol’ US of A by Ebbets Field Flannels and features felt appliqué patches and letterings. The melton wool body sits well with the leather sleeves while the interior of the body is Ripstop NyCo MultiCam lined.
