Ronnie Fieg continues to inspire, this time dropping a capsule collection alongside one of the UK’s finest footwear makers, Grenson. The boots in the lineup utilize premium leathers Grenson hasn’t used in their line and are offered up in colorways that are classic but will still turn heads and leave a mark.
The new Spike V and Fred V are re-worked in premium waxed/burnished grey leathers while below sits a durable Vibram sole. The Spike duck boot features a two-toned design marked with its ridged toe and smooth upper body, while the Fred complements any outfit with its sleek brogue detailing. The added red leather heel spike is a welcomed detail that contrasts effortlessly with the black shells while letting people know this isn’t just an ordinary Grenson.
The Ronnie Fieg for Grenson collection is available in limited quantities through KITH.

In the last few years, the number of brogues with workwear soles has increased dramatically and I for one am a fan. When one is attempting to wear trousers and ties in casual settings, shoes like the Grenson Archie can help maintain that casual feel without completely throwing off the look like sneakers might. You already know you are getting top notch construction and materials with Grenson as well as one of the hottest footwear styles of the moment.

Albam recently teamed up with Northampton’s Grenson for a rugged suede brogue. Aside from the heavy brogue detailing up top, the double leather Storm Welt sole really drives this beauty home. The white laces contrast well against the brown shell.

Introducing the ‘Denim Blue’ Boot from the fine folks at Grenson and Tenue de Nîmes. This is the duo’s second collaboration and is truly a remarkable one. The boot is inspired by an old infantry boot from the late 1800s (Military FTW!). Grenson’s ‘Glenn’ boots feature a special natural outsole with a combined logo sign and tone-on-tone leather laces.
Each pair is hand-made in England and will be available exclusively at Tenue de Nîmes.

Established back in 1866, Grenson is one England’s most premier shoemakers. Seldom do we see a brand of such stature let loose and really give its customers an idea of what goes into making their product. If you get a chance, head to Grenson’s website for their How We Make Our Shoes segment which outlines the brand’s shoemaking process from beginning to end along with some historical tidbits.
All Grenson shoes are “Goodyear Welted”, a process invented in the 1800’s in England that is a time consuming way of making shoes, but means that the product lasts longer than any other type of shoes. It also means that the shoe can re-soled many times over making them a wonderful investment.
There are 4 main departments connected with manufacturing within a footwear company and the components follow a progressive route through each of these departments to produce the finished shoes. The departments are, Clicking, Closing, Lasting/ Making, Finishing/ Shoe Room. From start to finsh will take around 3 weeks to make a top quality Goodyear welted shoe whereas in cheaper shoe production the rule of thumb is often that if it cant be made in 5 minutes it wont be profitable!
Head to Grenson for the full feature.

English shoemaker Grenson has teamed up with Number Six of London for the Hampstead boot. Pulling inspiration from an old American work boot, this one’s fully calf lined, apron-fronted and made from brown Scotch grain calf. It’s hand-burnished up to 3 times to give the boot its unique finish. The natural leather welt and classic vibram sole really make this a great boot all around.
