H&M has announced that Beyoncé will be the face of its summer campaign. Beyoncé is set kick off her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on April 15th and will be appear in television and print ads featuring pieces from H&M summer collection. The print and outdoor billboards introduce “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M”, the idea that all women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun, flirtatious. The campaign was shot in Nassau in the Bahamas by photographers Inez & Vinoodh, while the commercial was directed by Jonas Åkerlund. The clothing will be available beginning May in H&M stores worldwide and online.
On October 23rd 2012, in an abandoned building in downtown New York over a thousand people gathered to celebrate the most interesting and exciting design collaboration so far. I was one of them and got to witness the launch of the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection and have to say the detail put into the presentation was nothing short of exceptional. The unique event was held across many floors of 5 Beekman Street, a historical building in the city’s financial district. Guests were able to discover the collection in dance performances by noted choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker and through specially commissioned art installations, before DJ’s kept the party going into the early hours. Celebrities at the event included Kanye West, Alan Cumming, Helena Christensen, Margareta van den Bosch, Julianne Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Selma Blair, Doutzen Kroes and many others.
The Maison Martin Margiela with H&M collection will be available in selected stores and online on November 15th.
Here, we have initial looks at H&M’s latest collaborative effort with a luxury fashion house, this time teaming up with Maison Martin Margiela for a series of Fall/Winter offerings. Rather than crafting something from scratch, MMM will be remaking pieces from their archives. Standout items include slim suiting and a double breasted coat in a rich camel finish. The Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection will land in stores and online on November 15.
Rumors began to swirl and before you know it, H&M had dropped the official news that they had locked in another high-end label collaboration. For Fall 2012, they’ll be joining forces with Maison Martin Margiela. The Swedish label’s released a short teaser which gives us a look one of the central pieces of the collection — the car coat. The collection is set to drop on November 15th.
News broke out a shortwhile back about H&M‘s collaboration with Italian label Marni which is set to drop next month. The men’s offerings is looking really solid with a good mix of classic staples in wearable hues and finishes. Look for outerwear, shorts, pants, sandals, and accessories such as sunglasses and neckwear. Marni at H&M Spring/Summer 2012 is due to launch on March 8 at select H&M shops worldwide.
H&M has announced a long term partnership with David Beckham to produce and exclusively sell his new David Beckham bodywear line through nearly 1,800 stores worldwide.
