This may well be the app to trump all apps. Granted you might add a few pounds (isn’t chipotle suppose to be semi-healthy?), Chipotle’s iPhone app just made the only standing between you and a fresh burrito from Chipot a thing of the past. The app’s well designed with a very high “ease of use” rating. Are you in an unfamiliar area and craving a scrumptious burrito, the app finds Chipotle locations in your area and helps you place an online order that can be picked immediately. You can customize your order exactly how you like it. Locate, Order and Pay Using iPhone and iPod touch. Cutting to the front of the line just got easier.

Slingplayer for iPhone is now back to the App Store, but with a disclaimer — it only runs on Wi-Fi. So what’s in version 1.1? It brings native DISH Network navigation, improved widescreen support, and improved response times throughout the app. A 3G-friendly version has been submitted to the App Store for approval outside of the US, but guess everyone should keep their fingers crossed.

With the app going live not too long overseas, TomTom Navigation’s made its way across the globe, including North America. Made for both the iPhone 3G and the 3GS, it’s probably the most anticipated and hyped navi app for the Jesus phone yet. Engadget reports that NZ ($95), Australia ($80), US and Canada ($100), and Western Europe ($140) have all gotten their respective versions, but we don’t recommend buying it just yet. We’ve yet to hear more about the TomTom iPhone Car Kit which is suppose to mount and charge your iPhone 3G or 3GS while enhancing its GPS performance, speaker, and microphone. With no hands-on reviews currently in the blogosphere and one hell of a pricetag, hold off a little while until we get the green light.

Navigon has released MobileNavigator, their native iPhone app, to the masses. The company becomes the first of the major players in the GPS market to drop an iPhone app. Business Wire tells us the app includes Reality View Pro, Lane Assistant Pro, Speed Assistant and Day & Night Mode. However, it has no real-time traffic updates, which depresses us alittle bit. The 1.29GB MobileNavigator program contains comprehensive NAVTEQ maps of North America, with a not-too-shabby price tag of $69.99 until August 15th (price hike to $99.99). There is no monthly payment but no word yet on whether updates will cost.
Here’s the kicker, my friends. It can’t run in the background so when you get a phone call, your navi goes offline. So, is this app worth the money? Even with the ease of use and numerous bells and whistles that mirror the company’s standalone navigation systems, not being to run in the background just may be a deal breaker, amiright?

Here’s something we didn’t see coming. It seems that AT&T’s pre-order service for the new iPhone 3G S has sold out. Anyone still making a new pre-order will be told that they won’t be seeing their precious beauty for atleast another two weeks. If you’ve already pre-ordered, don’t be alarmed as you’ve got a spot in line, it just stinks that you still have to get there at 7am.
I actually am surprised, as I didn’t think current iPhone customers would be happy about having to cough up atleast $200 atop the new contract price to get their hands on an iPhone. Guess there are just as many converts as the last time around. Unless I sell my current 16 GB iPhone (White) for atleast $400, I will not be a witness of the battle royal that is set to take place nationwide on June 19th.

A whole lot is going on over at Apple’s WWDC in California. After gloating about the App Store’s proven success, they finally unveiled the iPhone 3GS, the “most powerful, fastest iPhone ever made”. It looks the same on the outside, with its glossy finish and structure, but the inside has gotten some major upgrades. The “S” in 3GS stands for Speed and from the looks of it, this baby’s packing plenty of it.
Launching messaging is 2.1x faster, loading SimCity is 2.4x faster, viewing Excel 3.6x faster, loading NY Times 2.9x faster. It’s got 7.2 Mbps HSDPA so internet browsing has gotten even more refined. The 3GS supports OpenGL|ES and better javascript integration. The camera has been upgraded, now sporting a 3 megapixel autofocus camera that supports video. (more…)
